5x114.3 vs 5x115
 

I've been doing a bunch of research on what seems like a stupid question, but particularly in the charger/300c community where large wheels are very popular, lots of people have run 114.3 bolt patterns perfectly fine with a hubcentric ring.

It is only off by 0.35mm per lug which is thinner than the lead on a lot of mechanical pencils. The reason I am asking is because the rims on my astra are 5x110/115 and I am curious as to how they will do on the venza for winter use etc. I have hub rings for them as well

Hub centric rings have nothign to do with the bolt pattern... They just fill the the difference in hub bore when changing wheels...

Yes but without a hub ring all the force of the wheels from the road is on the bolts/lugs

if you honestly want to get them to work, have them redrilled to 114.3

a lot of the 300 guys have ran 114.3 rims, but i donno, as for safety goes, i wouldnt risk it.

Who does redrilling in gva? They are a $550 set of rims. Might as well go buy a set off craigslist or rs classifieds for $300-400 and save some money swapping tires and what not

Does anyone have experience using wobble bolts? There are many astra guys around the world who use 5x112 wheels for vw etc. As opposed to the stock 110 pattern because of poor selection. I've read that they are tuv approved so I'm guessing they can't be a serious hazard eh?

There is nothing wrong with wobble bolts so long as you're hubcentric and not putting the force on the lugs like you said you wont be.

It seems to be a pretty simple concept. Have the collar of the lug be looser than the actual bolt size. That way the collar can fill up the small amount of play in difference of bolt pattern while having the bolts actually fit inside the hub.

Anyone know where I can find wobble bolts locally and what size I need?

Hardly debatable. hub centric is almost idiot proof and much safer.
