Documentary on the streets of Vancouver http://documentaryheaven.com/streets-of-plenty/ An unprecedented look into the underworld of Vancouver’s downtown east-side ghetto. This 65 minute documentary follows one man’s 30 day experiment of joining the thousands of homeless, ill, and addicted, who survive the streets of Vancouver’s cold, wet December. He starts off with nothing but a pair of underwear. Where he ends up is a place he never knew existed, even though its a place he passed by every day. He has no money, no friends, no family, and most importantly, no home. He must navigate the institutions, policies and services alongside the thousands of people that call Vancouver’s streets home. This is the perfect film for anyone who wants to see first hand what life is like on Vancouver’s streets, but doesn’t want to risk murder from gang violence, contracting a fatal or chronic disease, or a life-long addiction to crack or heroin. |
repost! but this was good! |
This was definitely a very good watch. We should post more documentaries from time to time. Spoiler! |

wow crazy.. i like how it's multi-perspective and not biased bullshit (unless it takes a turn, i'm on part 6 so far lol). Very entertaining, thanks for the post |

First timer here watching this. Overall, a good video. You'd have to watch all the 7 clips though and not just the first few ones only. |

^ i saw that too! maybe it's not actually a counter.. lol thanks OP, this is my first time seeing this docu. I've seen the one where there are trainee cops for DTES, the one on incite, and the one where they try to get junkies into recovery. (all cbc docu's) This one seems kind of amateurish.. well it is what it is, the main dude is a retard for doing those drugs, I really doubt he stopped doing it just like that. I like how they explain riverside, addiction, and that social housing won't be a fix to the problem. I think it sort of throws incite in a bad light, because the person working there pretty much gets the herion all ready for them no questions asked. It doesn't really reveal how if he did it on his own he could OD pretty easy, but at least they explain it and the alley chick says how her friends left her there ODing too. |
Heard about this video. Gonna watch it now thanks! |
O_O.... |
