Margarito's face... oh my

I'm not much of a boxing fan, but I actually watched the last 6 rounds.

I liked the quote "it's not really a matter if you can hit pacquiao, but how many times you will get hit"

fliptuner 11-13-2010 09:24 PM

Drunk post warning...lol. My GF and I go shoyt for shot every round manny wins and I always have a double Long Island at hanfd - this fight, triples.

I have yto admit, I knew Margarito woiuld be almost 20poudns heavier than him with a 5" height advantage and he had something to prove. Hsi training looked awesome. Calm , foucesd and intense. I was so worried, I onl;y took 1 bet that was for great odds where usually, i'd take 5 or 6 with Vegas odds. Manny was distracted, I believe that. His training wasn't as focused as usual.

Well, bullshit with the you toube post from Margarito's bullshit gym about Roach, a lot of trash talk from his side about him kicking Manny ass, discrenptancy with his hand wraps.... etc, etc.

Mexicxan fightesr even close to his weight, in what, 3 different divisions....there aren't any left. If Margarito tries fighting in his right didvision he might not make it - -i wouldn;t be surprised if he ended it after this one.

You take a guy who's probably 20ponds lighter on fight night (that's wjat, 2-3 divisions?), has a real job as a congressman in his country, constant interuptions during training, shows class in and out of the ring (12th round), has thehumility, can take a punch, speed, power, and ring generalship that Manny has and fuck, whatya want me to say? He's the man, pure and simple.

Fuck Maywether. If he want s to fight Manny now, He can come down to 140. he's the champ. He's proven it time and time again. The longer he takes to bring it, the more he looks like a premadonna, bitch. Seriously, if Manny just wanted a paycheck, he'd just mow down the lightweights - ALL OF THEM, EASILY.

fliptuner 11-13-2010 10:04 PM

Good win for the Pac man but he really needs to fight someone with hand speed and someone that can use angles more effectively. Glad that Margarito got beat up- his camp is ridiculous.

fliptuner 11-14-2010 01:58 PM

Cotto and Margarito DO have good hand speed and considerable size advantage. Anyone with quicker hands a better footwork would be smaller and Manny would still have a power and size advantage. Add to that he has a great trainer, conditioning and he's smart in the ring. It's more a testament to how good he actually is that makes you think his last few opponents were slow.

There's only Mayweather - maybe Diaz and Bradley a distant second. At this rate, who knows if he'll step up to the plate or what kind of circus tactics he'll pull. Remember, Manny ended up agreeing to the testing Floyd's camp wanted, then he still backed down. Maybe Floyd thinks the longer Manny stays in office, the more he gets away from boxing only, the better his chances will be. I highly doubt Mayweather will be putting down a legit challenge within the next 6 months.

I did feel a smidge of disappointment in Manny's performance in that he didn't seem as focused or as crisp as I've seen him in the past (both in training and between rounds), he didn't try to finish Margarito in the 11th when he almost chopped him down in the 10th. I do have to remind myself that he was fighting a guy that had 17+ pounds on him and was punching up the whole time.

When it comes down to it, there's nothing really left for him to prove. I don't think they care about fighting Floyd anymore - he's been put in his place. Maybe for a big purse, to make the fans happy, to put a final exclamation point on his career but totally unnecessary.

Jegz 11-14-2010 04:30 PM

Manny Pacquiao is a humble fighter. He didnt want to knock him out. He even told the referree that he wanted the fight to end because margarito could barely see already.
