SUPERCHARGER HELP!

okay so im currently looking into this corrado for sale, and for its age, its in reall good shape.
im just concerned about the supercharger...more specificly the filter element(not 100% sure).

every time the engine is operating a cone filter produces smoke and it smells like its oil burning.

anyone that own a g60 or have knowledge about superchargers, please help!

Is that the breather system? Too much negative? pressure maybe?

Is it under idle, when revving, under load?

well i only saw it during idle, when drving no smoke seems to come out of hood.

Aaaah, the good ol' g60 g-ladder system. There's a running "joke" about it on the Vortex... The supercharger will only last until you finish counting down from 60... :lol

But yes, that's the breather filter.

lomac, thats one dope picture youve got haha

yup thats a breather filter it should be a PCV system that is plumbed back into the vacuum side of the intake. Its got nothing to do with the supercharger but if the piston rings are worn the engine will produce excessive "blowby" causing what your explaining. I would have the engine examined to make sure it has good compression before purchasing.

That does not sound good, probably cracked pistons due to detonation.
