XBMC live what is it?

Saw someone running XBMC live on their Tv without running an operating system like windows 7,.. (i think the computer they have is an acer revo R3610 from futureshop)

How do they do that? and where are all the contents (music/movies) from?

My questions are so dumb cuz i am a noob to HTPC stuff. So dont laugh...

XBMC = Xbox media center

It's using the original XBOX as an HTPC pretty much. That's all I know though

Also works on Windows, Linix and there is a live version that runs off usb and does not need an OS.

XBMC Live is a standalone OS which doesnt require another OS to run, I believe it is based on Linux. I used to run it on a computer using a flash drive and booting from it. But I noticed it did not work with my media centre remote so I just run XBMC on win7

I remember running this on my old school Xbox that was modded.

The content is just stuff you've downloaded. It's just a pretty interface for playing your media - much like Window Media Centre that comes with Windows 7. (well, certain versions come with WMC)
