Suggestions For a New Laptop

My Asus F8SN-B1 that I have been using for the past 3 years is starting to die out on me. When playing SC2, my screen would freeze up and I would have to restart the computer. Sometimes when restarting, it still won't fix the problem and I have to leave it off for a bit before turning it back on again. I can't even play single player because some of the effects are blacked out. It is using a Nvidia GeFroce 950m GS graphics card, but thats outdated to shit now.

I like the 14.1" screen and I like Asus as it has global warranty and I am not always in one country.

Can anyone recommend something from Asus that I can play games on, yet not a dedicated gaming laptop. I just play SC2 and some Dota, so not really graphic intensive games, but still would like the effects. Prefer 14.1" as well.

Would like an Asus, but it doesn't have to be, anything similar would be great. I am not sure about prices for laptops anymore, but it appears $800 is now the general norm for this type of laptop? If more, thats ok, just nothing crazy.

Thanks!

Symptoms sound like it may be overheating. If you have a can of compressed air, blow it into all the vents to clear out the accumulated dust. If you don't have one, use a vacuum... but it won't be as effective.

SC II is a resource hog. You're not going to find many lap tops, particularly 3 year old lap tops, that can run it with out some issues.

There are some laptops available specifically with gaming in mind now and while they've come down in price somewhat, to get one with a video card that you're going to be able to use for a while you may need to go up in the $900 range. (I think there's a Samsung with a Radeon or nVidea Card and a quad core processor at best buy now for $999 that would meet starcraft II's requirements).

they did since 2 weeks ago haha, got it with a 10% discount (advertised on the site) and then an additional 5% on the spot which surprised me.

So i asked, why is there an additional 5%? Sales rep said it's because the item is on sale lol. So to my understanding, additional discounts applied onto items already on sale at ME = profit haha.

I remember you got yours like at least 4 weeks ago though. Lots of things change in the tech/electronics industry in that time ;)
