Dog has bad breath!!!

are there thing out there that can make it minty fresh?

I left my dog at a kennel place and he came home with bad breath.. He never had bad breath. (could it be the food he was fed?)

Solutions:
I am not talking about a temporary thing that only lasts while he is chewing it.

1) brushing with tooth brush and tooth paste (animal tooth paste?)
2) greenies stick?/denta-stick? (do they work or is it just marketing...)
3) ..... anyone?
4)...treats that looks like a rope, dunno what its made from, ....

we brush our dogs teeth as well as use the denta sticks. I know that dog mints do exist but never tried them.

Greenies work like a charm. Also the minted rope toys.

Me and my GF's dog chews on the rope everyday almost all day lol.

It depends where the smell is coming from. As it has come up all the sudden I would probably say it is coming from the stomach. If they changed what the dog ate this could do it. Charcoal cookies help eliminate some of the odour. It could have been always smelly though and as you were away from it a bit you are noticing it more now. I would recommend a bone, or stuff a kong with some cookies. How old is the dog ? With toothbrushing start by getting the dog use to you opening their mouth. then use your finger to start. When they are comfortable with that introduce the toothbrush.

To anyone that use greenies... try this trick. Put the Greenie in a glass of water to see how well it breaks down. I tried this and was amazed. Yes the stomach has acids and bacteria to help but still they are supposed to be easy to digest.
Just something to try.

The raw diet and feeding raw bones will help with dog smells of all kinds amazingly as well.

The raw diet makes the whole dog smell better. Because they're not consuming grains their bodies and stomachs aren't stressed which helps with breath, farting, and oils on fur. I was amazed when my sister switched her dogs over what a change we saw.

my dog used to have very bad breath until i brought a chewing bone from pet centre , i don't know how it works but the bone is MINT flavored and my dog drools alot while playing so maybe the sylvia helps get rid of the bad bacteria? My dog plays outside with the bone because he drools ALOT when hes playing .

my dog has bad breath after staying with a boarding kennel for a week . I switched his food back to his normal one, now after 2 month, We still smell bad breath from him.

I tried to brush him once/twice a week and that didnt help either.

Should I take him to the vet?, (his digestion seems normal with firm regular poop, but one thing i noticed more is that he FARTS alot more now).

I wonder if all this has something to do with boarding kennel where he eats different food, runs around in the farm with other dogs....... ANyone has opinion?
