with the advance technology of LCD (or LED) nowadays, are they good for being a desktop monitor now? its cheaper (and easier) to find a bigger size TV than a monitor if someone wants to upgrade.
I am sporting a 23" LG monitor right now but i am thinking of upgrading to a nice 32" LED TV but i dont know what the pros n cons are.
if anyone has any knowledge of this, please enlighten me.
Bigger doesn't mean you will see more.
TV resolutions max out at 1080P, which is 1920x1080. Your 23" monitor might be the same resolution, so things will only be physically bigger.
If you plan on using it on a desk, you will need to sit further back to see the whole screen or you need to move you head to see the sides of the TV screen.
TV's are also designed to be seen further away, so the minimum brightness on a TV might be higher than monitors. This depends on the TV tho.
Finally TV's emit a lot more heat. I can feel the heat when I stand in front of my LCD TV. You could say it's a pro in the winter, but in the summer...
My girlfriend's next period should be any day now, maybe I can drug her into letting me near her vagina. Apparently Nyquil fucks her up really good.

32" is a bit big for a desktop monitor.....IMO at least..
I guess if you use it to watch tv on your bed or something.. but hey whatever floats your boat.

Naaa this is from pratcical experience. I had a 32" before but ended up not having enough distance between me and the screen. 6Ft you'd have a hard time reading text I'd think.
dual or more 30" +/- monitors > one BIG tv as monitor
i do a lot of CAD work, i prefer a 3 monitors combo horizontally, because your eye span is much wider horizontally
when available, i will also get an other e-ink monitor for reading, which i am SURE will be available within the next 2 years
