anyone knows any good deals on portable electric heaters?

im looking for a portable electric heater, also has to be children safe too. i have a small circular one which is great, it shuts off when the units falls over but its not very effective.

home depot? walmart? superstore?.. went to their websites but they dont have much listed.

i bought mine @ home depot....
it has a "heat & save" function.. meaning when you have it on ... let's say... 23degree, when it feels the room is warm enough, it turns off, and when it feels room fall below a certain degree, it comes back on automatically again

it was $49.99, but i dont see it on homedepot's website anymore!

how big of a room do you need to heat?
i have a $20 from canadian tire that heats up my room decently. My room is about 8x10ft.

I've got one of those. They're good if you're in its path, but if not, it is pretty much useless. Even when you have it oscillating, it's not that effective. It heats objects, but not really the air. They are safe, though. Tilt off feature. Nothing beats a heater with built in fan, but a lot of them are dangerous. I just got a Honeywell ceramic heater. The one with the red metal covering. Gonna use it in the garage. In my covered trailer I got one of them overhead heaters. Those things are nice. Not really designed for home, though.

example, say you have a household of 3 people, and you have 3 of these portable heaters running most of the day in the 3 rooms only.

the other rooms, kitchen, living room etc are at low heat settings for the central heating.

Would you still be saving money on the electricity bill?

price pro...bionaire tower heater for around $35...costco has the "updated" model for $57...only differences are the "touch screen" versus buttons and a clock...i'd much prefer the older as i have no real use for the clock...the touch screen is meh as it feels funny trying to change the setting when the thing moves side to side

Sounds like a plan. The good thing about Costco is their return policy. If it doesn't work the way you had hoped for, you can always return it. Costco, FTW!

My office was without heat last winter and I bought a dozen or so heaters for everyone from Home Depot, they all worked great and weren't very expensive at all.. Can't remember exactly but think around $30
