The washroom is fixed near the entrance area. If you'd look into the floor plans you'd see that.

This idea is cool, but what if you have some hot lady friends over and suddenly needed to get rid of that burrito you ate yesterday? :D

If the washroom were a distinct area, I can see this working though.

It's been done here in BC also, but it's a lot smaller. Costs about $24k to build.

I remember seeing this on the news earlier this year.

Neat, they're right by me! I saw an article locally about a person making homes from converted shipping containers as well. Not sure if that went anywhere.

As someone who lives in a tiny place (not THAT small but really not that far off of it), I have a fascination with managing small spaces. There's a great blog: http://lovinglivingsmall.blogspot.co...ACE%20DWELLERS and a few others that go into how people manage micro apartments.

I know here we're used to sprawling but most of the world doesn't have the kind of free space we do.

reminds me of the 300sq/ft condo's in downtown. I dont think it would be that bad if you worked 80 hrs/week.

necessity is the mother of invention! i used to live in a japanese designed townhouse here in richmond. the usage of space was phenomenal and made it seem huge and wide-open like a house.

i think a concept like this tiny house would be ideal for single occupants or a couple. living with your mom in close quarters........ no :lol

It's not that bad. Especially if it's spread over two floors. I have a 2 bdrm town house that's under 700 Sq/ft. And about 30 of those feet are wasted on my patio (which I glare at longingly wishing it was part of my living room when ever the weather sucks too much to use it), at least 100 sq/feet of it is used up by stairs and storage giving me maybe 550 sq/feet of living space. It was HARD for me at first given my prior place was over 1600 sq/ft. but you definitely learn to adjust. I boggle at some of the people in my building who have couples + multiple kids in units the size of mine but I'm sure they adjust too.

Look at some of those IKEA lay outs. They get 2 bedrooms in under 300sq feet. I could easily live in some of their demo places and they're even half the size of my tiny place.

doesn't compare at all to this!

its all about the layout and furniture used. I had a friend whos place was a couple hundred square feet bigger than mine, but even he admitted my palce felt bigger.

it's along no.3 road near francis. the location is a bit of a shame since it's a busy street and somewhat noisy. i believe the second phase is being built in the near future.
