cold weather, car won't hold idle car is a 93 civic coupe has a bit of trouble starting in the cold weather, but otherwise drives fine. today, wouldn't start. dead battery. i jumped it and it started fine, but once i started driving it, it wouldn't hold idle. cruising to a stop, if i press the clutch down the motor would die. any ideas what this could be? thought maybe the battery is no good, but it can do rolling starts with the clutch, and the battery has nothing to do with idle.... some kind of sensor malfunction? thanks |
Sounds like the ECU just has to re-learn the idle. |
Maybe a IAC (idle) valve stuck. Or fast idle thermo valve not opening when engine is cold. 93 civics don't have to learn the idle. ECU isn't programable |
figured it out. loose battery connection. thanks |
gas line antifreeze |
