Modifying a Vivitar 283 for manual control of flash output There's so many resources out there, but I have zero experience with electronics/potentiometer...so I'm a little scared to try doing so myself. Has anyone ever done so? Would .....you like to help me? :D |
looks straight forward to me? you just have to connect a variable switch across two wires. http://www.krebsmicro.com/VIV283/index.html |
If it helps, I have an extension cable for the front knob if you want it. You pop the front knob off and plug this cable in between, Its so you can control your flash without having to drop the stand down or whatever. It may be useful if you want to cut it up and just use the wires and the one plug end. Keeps it nice, plug and play. |

Some guy gave it to me when I bought something else from him, can't remember what. It only works on the 283 though, and despite the fact that I own one, I've never used it. Don't you use the 285's Tom? |
