The base stereo in a BMW 335 is pretty close, the Logic7 is definitely better, and the BMW Individual Audio in our 2010 X6 Hybrid BLOWS IT OUT OF THE WATER. I have never heard a sound system in a car as good as the new BMW Individual Audio in their SUVs, it is THAT good.

i got into a 2011 750 with the individ sound system and just CRANKED IT...

..it rivals 2-4k sound systems people have at home.

I love the center console, and the B&O sound system in that thing. Sheer sex.

Yeah that B&O I've heard from some reviews is not great and is certainly overpriced. Neat party piece I guess but not for audiophiles

So they made it a large A4. Horrible. Next you know, the A8 will have A4 style taillights.

You mean they'll be red and rectangular?

Most of the Europeans have a similar profile and style for their products to keep their design language cohesive. Look at the latest 5-series vs 7-series and to a degree the 3-series. All have inheritantly similar looking front ends, headlights, tail lights and greenhouse shape. Why? So you know what a BMW looks like without the badge and so forth.

I'll tell you one thing though, an Audi A7 looks a heck of a lot better than the abortion they call the 5-series GT.

Bimmers*

and starting to? You're a bit behind the rest of the world bud...

You buy Audi's for style and buy bimmers for driving dynamics.....there is a reason resale on bimmers is much stronger than Audi's.

Audi's are super kool when brand new, but when the next model comes up the current model gets dated quickly and falls out of favour, hence resale is poor on Audi's.

They are too similar. I liked it back when I could tell from 100m away what car was what. Heck, differentiating an M5 from a 5xx was easy, now you have to look real close.

Personal opinion.

From the rear, I think the latest 5-series/M5 is easier to differentiate than the E39 ones. Most of their clients seem to prefer those models to not be too over-aggressive though. We should be glad that not everything is a cross-over...yet :crybaby:

The wheels are too busy for the design of the vehicle imo. Overall very nice in and out.

The S8's B&O system is a different story, it is regarded as the best system ever made in the car business by many reviewers. This appears similar to the S8 with the rising tweeters and all.

i would buy an Infiniti M56, sexy new style exterior, and curvy interior

not like the boxy shit they put in most cars now

Here's CNET's brian cooley's review of the B&O system in the A8 mind you this model is going to be replaced soon but might be the same system?

basically he sums it up as "You gotta feed it good food to get good stuff out of it" and that regular FM/Sirius radio doesn't really sound any better and certainly not $6000 better. Remember this car comes with a bose setup as standard equipment

Guess it might have been the spoiler and the front bumper that said 'Hey, I'm an M5, not a run-of-the-mill 5 series!'

But I still do double-takes in traffic.

At least it's not as bad as GM Minivans and shit, lol.

rawr 12-09-2010 11:41 AM

this shits on the merc e-class anyday.

A6 = Infiniti M > 5 series > e-class

That's true for any high-end sound system.....audiophiles don't listen to radio to get the best outta their systems....
