He does have an insurance policy with a locked file that contains a large amount of information, which could be unlocked if anything were to happen to him.

Insurance file

On 29 July 2010 WikiLeaks added a 1.4 GB "Insurance File" to the Afghan War Diary page. The file is AES encrypted and has been speculated to serve as insurance in case the WikiLeaks website or its spokesman Julian Assange are incapacitated, upon which the passphrase could be published, similar to the concept of a dead man's switch.[97][98] Following the first few days' release of the United States diplomatic cables starting 28 November 2010, the US television broadcaster CBS predicted that "If anything happens to Assange or the website, a key will go out to unlock the files. There would then be no way to stop the information from spreading like wildfire because so many people already have copies."[99] CBS correspondent Declan McCullagh stated, "What most folks are speculating is that the insurance file contains unreleased information that would be especially embarrassing to the US government if it were released."[99]

its pretty amazing to read that a country like libya, was able to get away with blackmailing UK, in order to secure his release.

if uk doesn't have any pull, wat good will expressing canada's displeasure achieve.

to add, Canada's reputation on the international stage has gone downhill since harper took over, more recently during the SC vote.

he was charged for not using a condom? That involves breaking the protective shield and trying to infect the third party with a virus. So yeah, sounds like something he'd do.

Nothing can happen to Assange, because he has a document that he claims could insight doomsday that will be released in the case of his untimely death. Of course, it could be a straight bluff, but I wouldn't be surprised if such a document exists.

StaxBundlez 12-08-2010 10:51 AM

I think if any company would support wikiLeaks it would be Google

They have a pretty strong stance against censorship

just MO though

The document exits you can download it from the link I posted. It's encrypted so you can't read it until the key is released.

Mastercard and Visa's sites went down today after hackers attacked the sites.

I also heard that someone might have released the information for around 10,000 Mastercard customers. It was only up for about 5 minutes but still long enough to do damage.
Not sure if Paypal has been hit yet but I'm sure if they havent been hit they will be going down soon too. I've also heard Amazon.com is on the hit list.
The messed up thing is Paypal allows ppl to donate to the KKK but blocks anything to do with Wikileaks.. Amazon.com has books for pedophiles but has also been blocking anything to do with wikileaks.

If you want to challenge someone's assertions, you kinda have to make a counter argument and not just spout out brain-dead comments like "have you been under rock"

It's like spouting off to someone "You're Gay!" and think you've accomplished some great feat. Pathetic.

that's a noob move.

StaxBundlez 12-08-2010 07:47 PM

paypal and mastercard got hacked
lol

times 8:47

these guys are nuts

woob 12-08-2010 07:59 PM

MasterCard has been down since ~5am as well (the first news article that reported the attack came out at 4:51am so I can only assume it happened even before that time).

Damn 16 hours of downtime and counting....

StylinRed 12-08-2010 08:24 PM

what do you mean down? you cant use your mastercard??

i used mine this afternoon

Just the websites are down..

In other news it looks like 4chan got attacked.. This is like a cyber world war right now. Everyone is attacking each other

woob 12-08-2010 08:59 PM

The attack apparently fucked with a few online Mastercard orders as well. But yes, when I said down, I was only talking about the website.

EDIT: http://paypal.com is currently being DDoS'd. http://www.paypal.com and https://www.paypal.com are still up. Looks like Operation Payback doesn't have the firepower to hit all the paypal servers at once. I'm kinda disappointed.

StylinRed 12-08-2010 10:54 PM

lol wow

CanadaGoose 12-08-2010 11:21 PM

There's something happening here...what it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there, telling me, I've got to beware

visa hit too

and sounds like a lot of mastercard payments are having issues

MindBomber 12-09-2010 12:45 AM

I'm absolutely fascinated by hackers and their craft, I don't understand in the slightest how it works, but its fascinating. Swordfish style.

Ikkaku 12-09-2010 01:20 AM

Lol I remember reading a while back, there was a tweet (mashables maybe?) that showed tumblr people organizing a counter ddos against 4chan and 4chan went down for a little bit :lol

As long as you have enough active members who have nothing better to do, you can ddos almost any servers, large or small.

It's really not swordfish style. This is what they are using:
http://i26.tinypic.com/dre9t0.jpg

You type in a web address lock on and fire. You get enough people using this program and attacking the same address the site collapses because it can't handle the traffic.

Berzerker 12-09-2010 09:50 AM

^^ this type of program is also hidden sometimes in worms and activated from a remote key so people don't even know their computer is being used....

Berz out.
