If the weather is good, I might want to head up to Cypress or something to do some shooting - maybe rent a lens for that extra reach...

Looks like it's going to be cloudy or raining. I'll be at Cypress with the 500mm f4 + 2x TC III if the sky is clear though.

if ur heading up cypress, make sure u head up before 9pm as they usually dont allow cars up after 9pm.

Shit, I forgot about that....they close the road in the winter, don't they?

Totally OT: Senna, how is the 2x III optically? I'm really interested..

lol. @300mm on my crop i remember it being larger than my frame from Richmond

I've only tried taking shots of the moon at 700mm and its not too bad, would love to try to stake the 2x and the 1.4x with the 500mm on a crop! Uber reach! 2240mm of reach!

yup that's when the event starts but totality (when it's completely covered) is around midnight our time iirc. hopefully it clears up!

^ Don't worry, it happens almost every three years.. I've seen the eclipse three times now

but chances are it will be cloudy again :(

but maybe I'll have that 500mm that Senna has by then... but again, chances are pretty slim....
