Victoria Wedding Photographer

Anyone have any suggestions for a wedding photographer on Vancouver Island?

I dont know what the budget it like, but my friend who got married in August used Jon Mark (http://www.jonmarkphoto.com/) And they couldnt be happier with his work, he takes some really great photos (look through his photo of the day in his blog)

I admire the work of Michelle Loewen.

She has an incredible talent of capturing the moment.

You can check out her work on her blog:

I believe he is in the Victoria area now. Or at the very least is on the island and could probably meet with you very easily. If you speak with him, just tell him Gin sent you :)

I went through the site. I approve of his work.
His price though.. 300 images only for 12hrs of shooting?!

She does great children photos, because that's all she advertises. Nice editing!

His quality does not meet his price. Why doesn't he get a domain, why is it a mac template... wtf

Or if you really like someones work you can always pay for travel and two night stay.. *cough* lol

Lol mana, that's my ex. I have no idea what he charges, I just saw vic and thought of him. Also its a long and annoying story about the domain thing...

Thanks for the suggestions people, keep them coming. Vancouver people work too if the price is right. Definitely seen some nice work, but it looks like they are trying to keep it around $2000, is this even possible?

Thats a minimum of 300 images (the best of). I dont know if its normal or not, but he put in ~14 hours the day of the wedding and included a separate couple hour engagement session IIRC. From what I've seen, all of the pictures he takes are up to the standard of whats on his website. Its certainly not a cheap proposition though

What's wrong with 300 images?

I concur. It's quality not quantity.

Just steer clear of this chick!

A guy I went to school with just launched his website, looks like he charges 1500 for full wedding package:

Thanks for the link. I forwarded it on. For the price compared to others, his work looks excellent.

Mananetwork 03-14-2011 05:48 PM

He looks good, just make sure to ask to see his work from previous weddings.
Preferably a full day wedding which he deliveries to the client and not just his best highlights. You don't want 5 great photos while all the others he can't produce because of poor lighting or other roadblocks he can't jump over.

Best of luck!

hud 91gt 03-16-2011 06:27 AM

I was thinking the same thing. It would be nice to see a whole shoot rather then a couple sample shots.

stevo911_ 04-30-2011 11:09 AM

^I dunno if they've picked anyone yet, but just noticed on facebook Kris has a blog going now, went to check it out and he just posted up ~25 images from the wedding he shot on Thursday, to give you a better idea of his work than the few highlights here or there.
Here's the blog:

If they did pick someone, who'd they go with?
