In the market for a used Nissan Murano 2009-2010.
Any comments for those who own or have tested this car?
Any complaints or problems that I should be aware of?

The 2009/2010 ones don't have that

IMO the one in the murano really isn't bad perhaps it might be why it is slower than similar size/power cars to 60

To OP this is a crowded market nowadays, I like the ford edge a lot but it seems that after a quick search the 09 edges are noticeably pricier. Test drive the murano see if the cvt is a problem for you.

You might also want to consider the Venza, which IMO is really good bang for the buck for a new one fully optioned @ 41k, but it seems people aren't letting go of these. IMO test the 4 cylinder first and see how you like it, the V6 is not exactly a gas sipper nor a lightning bolt. I drove the rav4 with the old 2.4 and I found it adequate

When you have it fully loaded, it has everything you need.. Leather, sunroof, nav, etc. Must admit, one of the better looking SUV's. There's no huge problem with them.
The CVT is kind of a gray area with most people.. Personally I don't trust it.
But as mentioned above, the V6 isn't the greatest on gas, and with the weight, it's not exactly fast.
So really, it's all a matter of personal preference on style. But in terms of being a bang for your buck, it's not so much.. although not TERRIBLE. Personally I'd rather pick up a newer fully loaded Rav4 or Venza.. but to each their own.

^ Yeah.. the 03-07's were a lot better looking IMO

I like the murano its a really nice SUV without a huge price tag

the CVT is definitely a gray area like mentioned, test drive it more than once, take it around the city in stop and go and if you can take it on the freeway/highway and see how you like the CVT...Nissan extended the CVT warranties to 10 years or 200,000kms so if somethings going to go wrong you should be covered

Thanks Guys!!! Having a hard time deciding..
I actually like the Acura RDX more looks wise but the trunk space is something I am looking at too.
Any other SUV suggestions other than the RAV4 that I should consider?

double0seven 12-21-2010 10:41 PM

well if you are really concerned about trunk space, you should look for something else that isn't a SUV

out of all the CVT's out in the market.. nissan will have one of the most mature units.

the murano is thirsty .. but roomy and practical.. it wins in space over the rdx... the 09 + interior is much better than the previous murano with less use of plastic and clearer gauges. i like little stuff like the trunk cubby and net.

yea i agree ^

and you might find the RDX a little small, especially in comparison to the Murano...I know i did, it just feels a little tight to me, maybe its the sport seats and even rear leg room is lacking but the engine is pretty good and its faster than an MDX :D

PJ 12-22-2010 11:49 AM

The 08 MDX are fucking hot.
