Laptop Question I'm in the market for a new laptop. I've had my current one for quite some time now and its starting to show the signs of an aging laptop:cry: Anyways, I'll break down what I'm going to be using the laptop for: -Movies -Photoshop -Games (I would like to run some resource intense games without any problems) -School work Stuff I'm looking for in a laptop: -Good performance to do above tasks without any problems -Quiet (I know there will be some compromise here) -Small/portable -Good sound -Long battery life One of my classmates has had an Alienware laptop for quite some time and hes been pushing me to get one. I've been looking at the m11x the specs itself looks pretty decent along with the reviews I've seen on YouTube but I'm not really sure if the money I'm shelling out is going towards the laptop itself or the fancy lights. I know I'm asking for quite alot but if you have any suggestions please let me know. I don't have a hard-cap budget but I'm thinking around $1000-$1500 should be more than enough to get me a decent laptop. |
pretty happy with my M11x R1.. M11x R2 with i7... it should be able to handle more than what you want to do.. you can still overclock the CPU and GPU for more power if stock is not enough for u.. there are bigger screen and more powerful gaming laptops out there.. but for me, M11x is great because it's the size of a netbook with the power to game on the go.. I would wait a bit if I were you since CES 2011 is coming in early 2011 and Alienware should showcase their newest products at CES.. |

Might be a bit pricey and a bit heavy for an 11 inch laptop (it's packed with some powerful hardware after all), but if overall it's definitely worth it! Check out the Dell site so you can custom build your own Alienware. |
