Scotiabank Scene VISA Credit Card Application i am not sure how many of you have the Scotiabank Scene VISA Credit Card apparently a representative from Scotiabank phoned me and said I am eligible for the no-annual fee Scotiabank VISA Credit Card on top of that, I get two free movie tickets and I heard from friends saying that the credit cards allow you to earn tickets easily. i agreed and decided to give it a try. -------- today Scotiabank phoned me, they said i have to meet one of the representative for a '30 minutes' conversation, and i need to sign couple of documents too. i asked what kind of documents, and the representative said "it is a procedure that is required to get your credit card". from my experience, i dun need a 30 minutes interview to get a credit card, and i am concerned that the guy will try and force me to purchase their "credit card BALANCE PROTECTOR" program. have anyone applied for the card and need to go through this process? |
When my GF applied for the scene visa, she had to go to a scotia bank branch to sign documents and stuff. THAT was legit, dunno about your sitation. You can always say No to anything they push. When I signed up for the same card though, they just sent it to me in the mail. |
I applied for the scene visa about a month ago. I did not have to go to any branch to sign any papers. I did all my application online, besides faxing in my latest pay stub, that was it. You get 2 free movie tickets on your first purchase with the credit card. Your first purchase gives you 2000points, which equals to 2 tickets. |
A friend of mine has this card.. he hasn't paid for a movie in.. ever. |
yeah i got this card too. pretty much don't ever pay for a movie ticket unless i burned out my points. |
Damn... Annual fee $0 1 SCENE point per every $1 spent 5 SCENE points per every $1 spent at Cineplex theatres Earn 2,000 SCENE points on first purchase Pretty awesome if you love to watch movies |
can anybody link me the site? i hate spending 20gs every month on my cibc classic visa and not get any rewards in return. fuck em |

Call CIBC, if you spend that much consistently and pay it off on time, they usually comp you to higher level cards, talk to your branch manager. Quote:

http://5.media.collegehumor.cvcdn.co...e2acb2bdaf.jpg i got 300 back from my td rebate rewards. that's 25 movies. how many movies do you watch per year? it's just marketing, guys. enjoy your "free" movies |
haha no kidding, that "reward" is almost negligible relative to the amount of money you're actually spending on the CC |
^ or u can get movies for free with "underhanded" methods :troll: |
Plus most people just buy those $8.50 passes anyways making the savings even shittier for this card |
screw the movie tickets. MBNA Smart Card FTW. Just got my first $50 check. TD Rebate Rewards is only 1% back just 0.5% on the first $3000. Plus it gets applied to your credit card ONCE a year. MBNA sends you a cheque in the mail once a month if you have reached $50 rebate or more. |

you've been losing out on some major rewards my friend.. do not get this scene visa. get either the TD infinite, CIBC infinite, or RBC infinite. 25,000 points gets you a ticket anywhere in north america with CIBC, and 25,000 poitns gets you up to $750 for a ticket anywhere... you definitely have some options. |
^ he's more interested in a free movie / month as oppose to a free air ticket / month  |
