I just got this a few days ago, been playing around a bit in free test, done a couple races, finished in the top 5 on both... just wanted to see if any other RSers were on it too.
i think i saw Mark Uhlman (sp?) in a practice session at one point, haha.
Yeah Mark just got it recently. I just moved to a new place and my G25 doesn't clamp to this computer table, so I'm SOL until I get that sorted out. But then I'll reactivate my acacount. I'm pretty sure vancouver240sx is on iracing as well.
Haha damn, I'm feeling a little cyber stalked here
I just got iRacing a little while ago, pretty cool setup. It's definitely challenging but that's exactly what I like - I dont really enjoy console games at all, I am a realism junkie.
I still suck with that silly Miata though!
Catch you guys in the new year.
-Mark

2 races in, a 5th and a 4th for finishes. i got run into at the top of the corkscrew on the last lap in my last race and had to limp across the line lol.
Most people, myself included, find the roadster faster at Laguna as well. Those are the only two tracks I've really driven with any consistency. Lap times are still a little embarrassing though!

I'm a little quicker than you but we still have a ways to go! According to the stats my fastest was a 1:44.364 but we need to be able to run consistent 42s to be really quick at Laguna.

ya i got a ways to go haha, but i'm still pretty new.
and it doesn't help that my pedal set gave up the ghost.
Driving force GT. G25 is a great wheel, just hard to find. If Rich will sell you his, you should pick it up, it is definitely a better wheel than the DFGT.

some bright individual thought it would be a good idea to try to out brake me into the top of the corkscrew at leguna seca tonight. completely fucked my race.
he wasn't even along side me when i turned in. i would think common sense would dictate that if you haven't got the space to make the pass you back off.. am i mistaken here?
i have been on there for just over a year. mostly play on the ovals. not comfortable enough on the road courses yet and my cpu sucks ass so it is no good for the road stuff.

Hey guys!
This Saturday I'll be hosting a Race session at the Okayama International!!
Car: Mazda Miata (Roadster or Cup) Track: Okayama International Circuit (Short Course) Format: 15 minute practice starting at 11:00am. 15 minute Qualifying session. 20 lap race from a standing start.
I'll post the password later this week if people are interested in joining!
Has anyone played this versus Live for speed? Got a comparison?
Game looks cool but having to pay monthly sucks. Live for speed has pretty much the same thing except the "real" tracks and name branded cars. But then again you only have to pay one price.. Plus it comes with Drifting, Drag, City driving and has thousands of people online everyday..

Dragon,
LFS is definitely a quality game, however, its a little long in the tooth.
iRacing is much more than just name branded tracks. Each track is laser scanned to within 2 millimeters of the real version. And to be honest the physics are way more advanced. Especially when it comes to the tire model.
Each iRacing car is not just a representation of the real version, they break every moving piece down to the weights of gearing in the transmission to accurately model the inertia of those parts.
Yes you have to pay for iRacing, but it is absolutely worth it. Its more than just software platform. You have designated race times, a ladder system and consequences for poor actions (I've read LFS has now added something similar in the latest build). Paying for iRacing also means constantly updating content, prizes and much much more.
I also guarantee there are more people playing iRacing every day and the quality of drivers is FAR FAR higher.
