Open-world Action games for PS3

What are some open-world action games for PS3 similar to Infamous?

JKam 12-26-2010 10:14 PM

gta, Batman AA, prototype, red faction

can't remember any other ones

mos_skeeto 12-26-2010 10:29 PM

red dead

twitchyzero 12-26-2010 10:38 PM

assassin's creed 2 or brotherhood..skip the first one.
just cause 2
mafia 2...though not much side missions and somewhat linear

I wouldn't call batman AA a sandbox game.

+1 for Just Cause 2 and Red Dead

yup id go with assassins creed 2 and brotherhood, im currently trying to finish ACB right now, im already 20 hours into it doing all the side missions and stuff and im only at 34% in the game....

get the GTA4 collection..... well worth the money

Been playing Red dead non stop these couple days. Fuck i think i'm addicted to this shit now lol. Was playing uncharted 2 but that game is too fucking epic i don't really want to finish it too fast. So gonna take my time on that and decided to skip to red dead since is more of a sandbox game and it'll keep me busy for a while.

I would get Red Dead, except I am not a fan of the wild west theme. I am considering of getting Just Cause 2, but it has sold out at FS and BB for $20. :(
Not a big fan of the medieval time neither, so no Assassin's Creed for me.

+1 for Assassin's Creed II & Brotherhood

and

+1 for Batman: Arkham Asylum

and

+1 for Red Dead Redemption (not a big fan of Western either but I actually found the game really enjoyable. There's a reason why it won Game of The Year 2010 in so many places)

Haven't played Just Cause 2 but I heard it was awesome as well though

Also, you can't go wrong with old school Grand Theft Auto IV. Loved that game so much

if you like open world action games and don't get Red Dead then you're just stupid

the western theme is what makes red dead fun

StylinRed 12-28-2010 02:41 PM

The Saboteur i like the WW2 theme and wow the storyline and world are quit enjoyable (its huge)

and no its not Black N White well areas controlled by the Nazis are Black n White n Red until you destroy enough of the Nazi forces for it to become a contested area then its in colour but the game doesnt start out completely black n white either so dont get turned off or worried

great game, underrated

IMO Assassins Creed storyline is the best out there right now.. surpassing Mass Effect

AC1 was ok, wayyyy too repetitive of a game and they didnt reveal much of the actual plot..
i played AC2 and the ending totally blew my mind.. it was such a cliffhanger that its like waiting for a next episode of Lost...

AC Brotherhood takes that WTF ending to a whole new level..

twitchyzero 12-29-2010 12:12 AM

i'm about 2 hours into AC brotherhood..dont know why but i think i the whole AC appeal is lost with me

i dont bother doing side missions, rennovating, and i find myself skipping cut scenes..i think it is a better game compared to AC2 but just that I beat AC2 100% it's starting to feel repetitive. Only fun i get is from killing the borgeois leaders. I probably wouldn't feel this way if they didn't release this game only a year after AC2. how's the multiplayer?
