JDM fog light issues Hi so the other day my passenger side fog light went out. so i thought id investigate. i took out the light and noticed that the wire had detached itself from the butt connector. so i spliced and and added a longer wire so it has more play and reattached it with another connector. i tried the lights but no luck.still nothing. so i thought maybe i should take apart the light to check the bulb. i got it all apart and didnt see anything unusual so i thought id put it back together. as i was getting up to go turn off the lights (yes i know i shouldnt be doing electrical work while its running) i dropped my screw driver on the light and it touched something causes the drivers side to not work anymore either (i think its called shorting.lol) anyways my question is what do i do to get them to work again...both sides would be awesome but even if i can get the drivers to work again i can atleast try to figure out wuts going on with the passenger side. any insight would be great. thanks. |
trace all the wiring back from the light to where it gets power and keep an eye out for frayed, broken, or burnt wiring. it may not be externally visible that its burnt, but it will feel hard or crispy compared to the rest of the wire. |
thanks for the reply:) is there a fuse i should check or something as well? |
you blew some fuses |
what do the fuses look like and are they expensive to replace? |
|
The fuse can be on the fuse box, or can be inline on the power wire on the relay harness. |
thanks ill try to look for the fuse and see if i can get them to work again... |
