Why is there a government fee on car audio?
 
Just trying to understand what the government is charging their "fee" for car audio equipment?

Are you talking about environmental fees? Most electronics have that fee.

Enviromental fees have always been around, just the government is starting to add new enviormental fees towards Electronic goods.

If you've bought a flat panel tv in the last few years, you'll notice the additional $30-$40 enviromental fee added to your invoice.

This year, they are introducing fees such as speaker fees, car radio fees, subwoofer fees, etc.

check out www.esabc.ca for the new and latest fees. Some fees are already built into the price of the product, and some will be charged when you purchase the product. Either way, you're paying for it.
