Video card questions

Building an HTPC (BD-dvd, netflix, and digital downloaded movies) / minor gaming computer (mostly Heros of newerth, dota etc type of game).

My case is gonna be a lian li pc-c50b horizontal style case, so card must fit in the small space.

Would you recommand me a good graphic card that can achieve both tasks smoothly and at higest settings? I dont overclock or crossfire

I am looking at Msi GTX460 hawk (ncix boxing week sale) or cyclone, Radeon 5770, 5850, 6850 (being new model and lower watts consumption, allowing me to buy cheaper /weaker psu.)

Budget under 200 (MIR ok)

gtx460 hawk..i think it was going for $180..best bang for the buck..supposed to be as good as a 470 which is equivilent of the 6870 ($250 card)

i think i'm gonna waiting for the 6950 to fall around 200 before jumping the gun..and bios hack it as a 6970.

regardless..any of those cards will be more than enough for HoN IIRC

If you are only doing minor gaming (HoN, Dota, etc) or even older games an onboard graphics card will be enough. The new motherboards now come with nice ATI onboard graphics, which is enough for the games you want. It seems to me like you want to save money too.. as you are concerned about purchasing a stronger/more expensive psu. I think you might as well use that $200 budget on a card for your main/gaming computer.
