Dead Mac Mini

Hey all,

Might be a long shot and its probably dead for good, but has anyone else had a mac mini die on them?

Mine died a couple weeks back, it was on just idling.
I had only turned it on to charge my ipod, I turn my back for a second and hear a very quiet "peeewwwww" which was the sound of my mac turning off on its own, now it wont turn back on.

I google'd this and I've read that its could possibly be a dead logicboard?

If this helps at all, its an older model, I believe its the 1.83ghz, with 80GB hdd
Just seeing if anyone else has ever had this and went to get the problem diagnosed..

I'm guessing no applecare? If it's the logicboard you might as well get a new Mac Mini. I don't remember if it's an internal powersupply or power brick. It could be either of those as well.

Mike. Bring it to my place I'll help you out.

The ps could be dead and I can just use mine to check it out. Quick and simple. But like andrew said if it's mobo. Get a new one :)
