to prevent people from drinking and driving? they provide a way of transit. perhaps they don't extend the service long enough for some people, but it's there if someone needs to drink that night so they don't have to drive home and hurt others along the way.

When people go out drinking, they don't decide against taking transit because of the cost. They will take it because its a fairly convenient way to get home (when driving is not an option ie. when drunk). Saving $7 round trip won't give THAT much incentive for people to take transit. Extending the hours for a bit after clubbing hours WILL make more people consider taking it though.

BTW, Im not saying drinking and driving is right.

So people would rather drive if they had to pay for transit? :haha: They deserve to crash and die.

Transit here is shitty. On weekends and Holidays Skytrain servcie ends around O_o yea like that's really helpful not to mention buses stop working after 12lish.

I wanted to say thanks to Operation Red Nose for driving my car home from Richmond to South Surrey. Just a fantastic program they have.

So I was at the Renaissance last night... and we stayed till past 2am, so too late to catch the Skytrain... but fortunately I had done my homework in advance, and knew that there was an N19 bus that runs all night. We had to walk to Howe and Dunsmuir, about five blocks away. Luckily pretty much all of my group of ten lived right along Kingsway, between Fraser Street all the way to Royal Oak. We caught the bus at 3am, and by the time we left downtown, the bus was PACKED... like rush hour packed... full all the way up to the driver. Never been on such a rowdy bus before either... whole bus would be singing bus songs and cracking jokes. Unfortunately for a few of my friends, someone sitting right behind the driver puked just before Boundary, and the bus driver kicked everyone off the bus... LoL... so they ended up having to grab a cab afterwards. :haha:
