Problem with door ajar sensor I don't really know if this is the right forum, but i just started having a problem with i'm guessing the door sensor on my 97 integra. even with the doors closed, the cluster still lights up the door ajar and trunk open indicator. When the door is ajar, there is no chime/beeping noise that usually occurs. Also the cabin light won't turn off automatically. any ideas? |
check the door trigger on the door sill, is it old and rusty? Sometimes they'll get stuck and won't sense the door opening. You might have to get new ones from the honda dealership I think they're 20 bucks each, they have newer less problematic models of the door triggers for the 90s acuras/hondas now too. |

Who did the alarm? It sounds buggard. Bring it in for a quick inspection. |
thanks for the help guys. the alarm actually hasn't worked for years. the remote was pretty much a pos and never got around to fixing it. strangely enough the door problem fixed itself. the door ajar chime hasn't come back, but i guess it's ok for now. |
is there a plastic cover on the pin? sometimes the plastic can move, and all you have to do is line it up with the pin and everything is groovy. If it happens again check that. |
We just replaced one for a customer's DC4. The factory door pin is cover by a rubber boot. Just need to peel the boot off, unscrew the one screw and unplug it. Buy a replacement from honda/acura and your done. |
