| Resume help
Hey guys, I have a problem with adding on of my previous employments onto my resume or application. I am trying to apply for a few part time jobs right now, just to earn some cash, perhaps some experience, and I have only worked at my previous job for a little over a month.
My question is, should I bother putting that previous employment onto my resume/application when I hand it in to managers? I have applied to 10+ different stores/restaurants and none of them have replied, and I am starting to think maybe I should just put no experience and just take whatever wage/job they offer me because I am starting to become a little desperate.

it depends...what was your reason for leaving the other job?
if you lack work experience try to beef up your resume with education or volunteer work.

Uh, I was a little pussy and I thought it was annoying standing at the cash register for 5 hours in a row. Now that I look back on it, I wished I had kept that job.
Right now I am in post-secondary and I do put that on my resume. Do you or anyone on here mind taking a look at my resume and giving me a few tips and fixes?

Most post secondary schools have specific departments for this sort of us. Its prolly worth your time and effort to look into it. Posted via RS Mobile | |

For an entry level position like that I don't think it matters how your resume looks - just take off your previous employment history so they don't think you have commitment issues and try again.

You'll also have to realize - that having 10 applications turned in, and not having one person respond is very normal. If you're just looking for an entry-level position, you have to remember that most of these stores might get easily 10-20 applications a day, and might only respond to a few a week. You'll just have to keep on trying.
Some of the big box employers have applications that are a little more fair - places like The Gap, Starbucks (I think)... So try some of those places.
Remember it's really a lot of places look at your availability as well, so having as many hours available is better - even if you don't end up working during that time. And if you're looking for retail - keeping the weekends to yourself so you can have "time to hang out with friends and party" won't get you hired.
