| Windows cannot access...
Hey guys, this recently started happening to my computer. When I try to open executable files that are setups to other programs, I get the message "windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access this item". Has anyone ever had this problem, and if so, how did you fix it?
I am running Window XP 32, I am the administrator, and I have checked and the executable file is under allowed in my firewall. Thanks!

I don't believe so. Actually can you specify what you mean by that? On my PC there is only one account, and it is the administrator account.

can you think of any event (installation/uninstallation of something, weird behaviors, etc) that happened close to when this started happening?

But that probably isn't the case for you.

Sometimes even if you're the administer, you need to right click and choose 'run as administer' to bi pass weird restrictions. (though most often this is with Vista and Win 7 not XP)
