FS: Awd turbo isuzu impulse

1991 Isusu Impulse rs. Very rare only 800 were ever produced worldwide. The suspension was tuned by lotus. This car is all wheel drive turbo charged dohc 4cyl and has a top mounted intercooler with hood scoop it has a 5 speed manual.The car is black has a/c & pw/pm 171k km. The car will start and idle fine. I've only driven it around the block and everything seems fine. The car is not insured at the moment. With a simple wastegate bleed valve you can produce approx 220 crank hp at 15 psi in a 2700lb car. The boost is at stock right now 6-7 psi making more then the stock 160 hp because of the 3'' turbo back exhaust.

The bad: Driver’s door doesn’t latch properly. The ignition cylinder needs to be replaced it’ll start with the original key or with your pick of any flat head screw driver . One small spot of rust on the rear driver’s side wheel arch and one small dent in the front dr side fender. The brakes work but are rusty from sitting. It could use a set of tires. The paint is original and has aged ok over the last 2 decades the roof is fading though.

The good: Only 5k miles(8k km) per year on the odo. A/c blows very cold. Exterior is very straight and almost no rust. Interior is beautiful no rips or stains only one penny sized hole on the driver seat lower bolster. The driver seat shows almost no wear. No cracks in the dash. The exhaust is 3’’ from the turbo elbow back and is really loud. The turbo is rebuilt with almost no mileage on it maybe 10 minutes of idle and 2-3 km it’s fresh. No coolant leaks or over heating problems.

BONUS: Included in the sale of this car are the following parts specific to the turbo awd model these parts are rare and very hard to come by.
1) One rs engine with a spun rod bearing. Ready for build up.
2) Spare stock impulse turbo set up manifold, turbo 20k on rebuild, top mount intercooler with plumbing/pipes and hoses. This stock turbo set up bolts up to lotus elan,isuzu impulse,geo storm or asuna sunfire additional mods may be needed but the hardware is there.
3) One spare awd transfer case in working order.
4) Lot’s of other spare parts: Belts, Tail lamps, Oil filter, fog light, one piece of original Isuzu weather stripping new in package. Some other stuff I can’t think of at the moment. I'll throw in a set of wrx calipers and rotors if wanted I was going to use them for a big brake set up but never got around to it.

I would like to get $2500 for everything. I can’t say if this car would make any long distance without doing a full inspection first. It’ll start right up and will drive up and down my driveway but I’d want to change tires and bleed the brake fluid before I would hit the highway. Towing it home is suggested only because I have not had enough seat time in it to say how reliable it will be. I will not be insuring it so it can only be started and driven in my 20 foot driveway sorry.

Wow, that is a rare find. But to avoid misunderstandings, they produced 800 of them for North America, not worldwide. I'm a big fan of these cars and know everything about them.

Not to be rude but you are wrong and there is no misunderstanding. 800 examples of the Izuzu Impulse were produced and only exported to north america. You maybe thinking of the Isuzu gemini awd turbo wich sold in japan australia and some in europe it looks similar to the geo storm but is certainly not an impulse. Technically the Isuzu Gemini is the same car but it is not an impulse and it has completly different styling. You know everything about them? This is my 11th isu,5 impulse,2 stylus,2 storms, 1 imark & 1 asuna sunfire. :thumbsup:

big fan of these cars!! Nice to see some of them still around!! I have a red impulse RS, in dire need of repairs sitting in my garage (needs engine/turbo/bodywork!!

Super rare and fun car!! with a little TLC it will be awesome!

Awesome car. Makes me miss my 93 storm gsi. Had the lotus handling as well. Can't imagine how fun an awd boosted version would be. Great price too. Wish i had the time for another project car. Glws

It's so unfortunate that this car was only built for a year, it's an awesome, rare awd turbo car. Probably qualifies for collector plates too!

Then i'm hella lucky!! I've owned 3 myself and know where there's about 50 more where i'm from. I also know a guy in Vernon who has one and 3 guys in Alberta who have 2 each. Your price is definitely good for what it is and i would snag it if i could.

Thank's I'm willing to come down in price say $1500 for the car without the spare parts then sell the parts on their own.

I could believe that if we were talking about the xs as there were thousand's of that one produced are you sure we are talking about the rs model. BTW I got my very first impulse xs from your city kelowna back in '96. :)

Yeah there's an Impulse club in Montreal with a lot of members. Back in the days i had mine and i was on the club, there was 0ver 50 RS at the meet. Was an awesome meet!

Yeah I'll take $1500 minus the spares. I have some other impulse owners lined up right now asking for prices and shipping quotes for the spare part's. I guess you were on isusoul back east eh! some of thoes guys would kill for a rs that isn't rusted to hell right now. Awaiting your wife's response :wooha:

I sure was lol. Some of these guys do have unrusty RS's, IF they've never seen winter! I will most likely be buying the GT-4 Celica as well, i'm waiting for a confirmation from the owner. I don't know if i will be able to buy both, but i'm sure trying lol. I will let you know in a couple days.

Wow your getting an all trac and considering this one nice next you'll have to get a 323gtx,subaru svx then maybe stealth tt. I'd like to have all five of thoes early awd turbo cars.

I had a 323gtx, sold it a while back. Had a Stealth TT, was great until it broke down. Never wanted an SVX. I also had a 4x4 Protege, was an awesome car. Had a Pulsar GTI-R, an FD TT and a bunch of other cars, including an Impulse. I just like cars i guess.
