Changing house numbers? I'v tried googlin to no avail. My parents just bought a new house and they were wondering if its possible to change the address of the house. This is in vancouver btw. Thanks Posted via RS Mobile |
They'd probably have to contact the city of Van directly and find out if the municipality allows it. |
All I can say is that it is possible, cause my parents have done it. Although the selection is pretty limited to what the City allows. |
Too bad it's not like in the UK - where you can have a house name. Literally - I've met people who's houses are just named "The White Manor" or something random like that... No street name or anything. I asked if they could change the name - they said it's as easy as going to the Post Office and filling out a form. BUT - they said it would be inappropriate to change the name of a house that might have been there for 200 years - just because you thought it would be cool... |
You would have to contact the City of Vancouver in order to do this. |
too many 4's in your house number? |
Like everyone else has mentioned, call the City of Vancouver. I believe this would fall under the Planning Departments work, if not they would likely have a good idea who. http://vancouver.ca/commsvcs/planning/index.htm |
I've done it. Just go to City Hall and ask them. And it'll cost you I think it was $500-$600. |
Thanks. Will do when they take ownership Posted via RS Mobile |
