twitchyzero 01-19-2011 12:37 PM

2011 STI
83xx KM

Timing belt guide was off and was scratching my timing belt causing it to crack. Had the timing belt, guide and damaged parts replaced :( Runs great once again though!

2006 Honda Civic, bought in 2009.
It now has 96540KM. Regular oil, changed regularly (<8000Km) at dealer. Nothing wrong till now.

Marioo1991 01-19-2011 02:08 PM

2001 Accord 113xxx kms, only had it for a year, bought it @ 104,xxxkms from some old lady who never left richmond. Its the first time I bought a car that old with 0 claims.

Dragon-88 01-19-2011 02:54 PM

09 corolla, purchased brand new in 2010.. 37200KM Added intake for better throttle response and lowering springs for better turns. Drives like a dream no problems. Besides the recalls all is good. I still have one more recall on shortening the pedal but i'm opting out for that as they cut it by hand and it looks like shit.. Plus i dont have all weather mats so i dont have to worry about a "stuck pedal"..

DsZ24 01-19-2011 04:00 PM

2000 Dodge dakota 180000 kms

No major problems with it so far, just had to replace a few hoses and keep up with regular maintenance

2008 Evo GSR.

-Had it for about 2 years (Since Jan. 2009).
-37,xxxKM.
-Clutch and brake pads and rotors had to be replaced last summer. Clutch master blew a month ago (known problem).
-Oil change every 5000km. Chevron 94 only.

1991 Volkswagen Passat. Bought with 239,900 4 months ago. Now sitting at 243,000. Since I took ownership, the exhaust between the cat and the muffler has been replaced, oil changed, spark plugs and air filter changed, e-brake cable replaced due to freezing, cracked windshield replaced, and thermostat installed (it didn't have one for some retarded reason). Car has nagging idle problems due to a leaking distributor (common problem),and one of the rear wheel bearings needs a replacement.

However, it runs like a champ.

91 b2200 340,000 kms. I've put 40 on in the 2 years I've owned it. Only regular maintenance done. Oh and a waterpump.

my other cars:

91 jeep cherokee XJ - 273k when i bought it. 285k when i sold it. Regular oil changes, replaced the waterpump, fuel pump and filter, serpentine belt, transmission fluid, valve cover gasket, thermostat and coolant temperature sensor. Did all the work myself. Parts are cheap. Other than that, the trunk ran like a top and gave me no problems.

87 Volvo 740 turbo wagon - 288k when i bought it, 292k when i sold it. Regular oil changes. replaced spark plugs, air filter, misc coolant hoses, exhaust manifold gasket, and rear brake pads. Again, ran like a top and no problems.

Talked with a taxi driver once and he told me about 5 years. Although I seen lots of cars much older than 5 years.

AgentOfOZ 01-20-2011 11:52 PM

2003 Mercedes-Benz W203 C230k coupe
105,000km

Whole pile of random crap (such as trim panels, turn signal stalk etc.) broke over the years, all fixed under warranty. Car has never left me stranded though. Never needed anything other than oil changes every 15,000km, and brakes. Car is pretty bulletproof, especially that 5-speed autobox. Still on the original serpentine belt, coolant etc. Had the tranny fluid changed once to check for a potential problem specific to my model but the dealer told me it still had a ton of life left (factory fluid is rated for 170k iirc).

Stock handling wasn't too great (severe understeer), but some AMG sway bars and Brabus springs fixed a big chunk of it. Lots of fun to drive. Still enjoy it as much as the day I drove it off the lot. Car still turns heads. :D

german cars change oil between 10-25000k depends how big your engine is really. My dads X3 gets a oil change every 20k and its recommended by BMW, my neighbour gets a oil change every 25000k and his car is a X5 4.4

shenmecar 01-21-2011 10:17 AM

Got my 02 IS300 in Apr 09, the mileage now is 166,xxx kms

Regular oil changes with Pennzoil Synthetic. Although I also kept up with the larger maintenance like the belts, water pump, spark plugs, valve cover gasket. Runs very well still, although it burns a little bit of oil.......
