that's a good deal but damn i hate slow. i've got two 8GB cards in my camera(CF and SD). i'll wait for the 600x to go on sale.

dang that's cheap- but i picked up 2 8's for slightly more during boxing day :P

out of curiosity what camera do you use NVM? I barely noticed any lag on my 50D and 233x Lexar, and now that I have 400x I thought I was set for life :P

Damn I am so softcore I don't even notice lag on my 133x kingston elite pro :(

1D Mark II N . the "slow" i notice most is Lightroom reading my card reader though, not the camera saving to the media.

Upgrade your card reader? I got the Lexar UDMA CF/SD card reader and it made a HUGE difference in transfering files compared to my old one.

I'm just using the 300X cards and they're way more than I need.

m3thods 01-22-2011 08:35 PM

yeah dude i have the same reader. on my 233x i get about 20-30MB/s, compared to the 8 I was getting with my other USB 2.0 reader. It definitely is a good investment at 30USD.

if i find a black internal version, i'll grab one. i just have a cheap ass $10 Rocketfish internal.

m3thods 01-23-2011 11:41 AM

I'd be weary of those internal readers too. I've offloaded RAWs on an internal reader on an Acer, and it was just as slow as my cheaper reader.

If speed was a priority you can always get a FW400/800 reader :)
