When you sell gazillions of canned water + taurine and caffeine + sugar for $3-$4 a can, you can do things like that!

Berzerker 01-28-2011 04:03 PM

Rockstar > Monster > Redbull

Berz out.

OK I wanna know how they got a chromed out P-38 and B-25, 2 Alpha Jets, and a Cobra attack helicopter. I know the answer is "Money" but still. And WTF do they need Alpha Jets and a Cobra for?!

It says under each picture what the air craft is use for, but ultimately it amounts to an amazingly unique marketing campaign.

The Flying Bulls' Douglas DC-6 originally was delivered to former Yugoslavian president Josip Broz Tito. After a long life spent flying around the globe, the airplane was restored to like-new condition and includes an interior to rival those of any business jet.

The vintage four-prop plane is flown weekly during the summer, and often shuttles VIPs to F1 races throughout Europe. It often garners far more attention upon arrival than the jets, says chief fixed-wing pilot Raimund Riedmann.

"When we are going to Formula 1 events" Riedmann says, "there are all those BBJs [Boeing Business Jets] and Gulfstreams coming in, and we are coming in with this."

RedBull is without a doubt the coolest and ballsiest energy drink company. Hell they're more about marketing and promotions than the drink these days. I've been trying to get a job with them for about two years and haven't gotten anywhere. Couldn't think of a company I'd want to work for more :( Guess I'm not cool enough.

I would enter the company in any capacity to be honest and work my way up. Sales, marketing, corporate, I'd do any or all. I have a Bachelors of Commerce and specialized in international business, have grown up all over the world, and live for action sports. If I had a dream job it would be working with Red Bull's athlete's like White, Pastrana, Colten, Raikkonen, etc or at events like X-Fighters, Air Races... I could go on and on. I'm into everything they are and follow it on my own, so like I said I couldn't think of a company I'd like to work for more because it wouldn't even feel like a job for me. But I haven't even been able to get an interview and their Canadian headquarters is right here in Vancouver. Every time I've submitted a resume I've gotten a letter basically saying "thanks for your application, we currently don't have any positions open that suit your skillset, but we'll keep your resume on file".

I haven't given up yet but in the meantime I'm trying to be a fighter pilot and a motorcycle racer so hopefully 1 of the 3 pans out or I'm in real trouble :lol

I've worked for one of their partner companies.. I know a couple reps.. really the only way to easy way to get in is if you know someone.. or if you're an attractive young female.
Really, you can have years of marketing experience, and they will hire someone's cousin with no experience over you.
But even the shitty entry level jobs are gold, because you still get to go to all the parties and get paid for it!
Unlike Monster, RedBull's team is very exclusive. They won't even give out/sell hats. If you see someone with a Red Bull hat, they're on the team.

So keep applying, maybe you'll get lucky.

Reminds me of this huge box of Redbull shots I got for free last summer.

Cool garage.

Yeah I found that out after I applied. Even had an outgoing rep try to help me out but to no avail. Still hoping I'll get lucky :)

And yes the fact that RedBull does as well as it does without merchandising is unbelievable. For most companies that's their bread and butter but RedBull is so selective in who wears their brand that you can't buy anything with their logo or name on it unless it's tied to a specific event or athlete. But it works for them!
