We ask the guy for some more tea and water, and he just ignores and keeps talking with his co-worker. I asked him again, and he tells me "just a minute" as he resumes his conversation. By then we ask another server, and yet after 10 minutes, still nothing. We were pissed off. We are not going back there.

However, Ninkazu service is a bit better. At least we get some service, despite needing some reminders, but at least we weren't blown off for a conversation WHILE working.

most of the time most of these all you can eat places have horrible service and are filled with snobby employees.

Richmond Sushi is indeed a joke. One of the worst ACYE there is. The dinner menu is not much better than the late night menu. Also, the quality of the food is very low compared to other ACYES. It seems like they have trusting issues.. They made my friends and I(group of 8-10ppl?) pay first before we ate..

^ indeed, fish on rice made a group of us (15) pay for an extra because they couldn'te keep count how much ppl paid..we all paid -.-.

Haven't been to richmond sushi, but a good place is Robson Sushi, just ate there last night and for 2 people it was $29.

Oh yea, Shabusens place on Granville closed so now the one on Robson is only one QQ

Just tried toyama for the first time friday night, food doesn't come as fast as ninkazu/tomokazu, in fact it was quite slow and service was bad, had to ask several times for water/tea refill. They have pretty decent selection though but the toro we ordered was frozen :/ Had tomokazu last night funny enough and it was way better imo even though the food is more generic

The last time i paid the place a visit, one of their waiters spilled udon soup all over my friend's head, after some complaining, his meal was free of charge, and our bellies were filled with the waiter's spit. I dont think i'll ever go back.

RevRav 02-28-2011 03:43 AM

^ Must have been epic.

darkfroggy 02-28-2011 12:23 PM

I don't really like AYCE.

I end up stuffing myself to get a "better deal", then end up sick lol.

Calinfornia 02-28-2011 12:24 PM

Might not be all you can eat, but if you want good sushi - try Tojo on Broadway.

+1 fish on rice
pretty good, went with a few friends, not really sure how the service is with a big group (8+)

unit 02-28-2011 11:13 PM

^appalling.

Culture_Vulture 03-01-2011 02:50 AM

Fish on Rice is disgusting.
Never mind the service and the cleanliness of the place.

In my honest opinion, there aren't any places where you can get cheap & all you can eat sushi...and expect it to be good.
On the other hand, there are many sushi joints where you can stuff your face for $15--just less variety.

To be fair, Fish on Rice on Broadway isn't bad. I've been there 3 times and all 3 times, it was a good experience.

Fish on Rice on Kingsway, however, is utterly disgusting.

Agreed...I didn't find the Broadway location to be alright. Granted that was about 3 or 4 years ago. I have heard that the Kingsway location is horrible to.

+1 for E Bei!

Their AYCE lunch price is from 11am-4:30pm and their late night prices start from 9:30pm-midnight.

E Bei > Fish on Rice/B.C. Sushi/Richmond Sushi

My only complaint though is that their rice are usually sub-par. Other than that, everything else is pretty stellar and delishh.

Then don't eat so much, eat what you want, and its cheaper if your going there eat supper or something.

Calculate everything you ate, and add it for the general original price...you SAVE

jpoon 03-02-2011 04:05 PM

best late night would be BC sushi around 12$ / person...food is great and comes out fast! Plus..I live a couple mins from it :D
