Question About Towing

Do I have the right to request a tow truck to tow someone's car when they're parked in front of my house even though there's no residential parking only sign? My entire block fills up during rush hour all the time and it pisses me off when I have to park a block away from my own house. I usually just write notes asking them to not park here again and leave it on their windshields.

try it, see what happens

Nope, if they park for more then 48 hrs you can call the city and they will send someone to check then tow the car

No, you can't. You pretty much answered your own question right there.

Also, if there are cars back to back infront of your house (assuming so, cause you can't park ur car in there), how the fuck do you expect a tow truck to get it out of there?

Tow trucks can tow with cars back to back. They will always find a way to tow it.

If you're in Vancouver a car not registered to the block can be ticketed for parking more than 3 hours between 8am-6pm

Call Mundie's towing, say that you're the owner and you can't find your keys. :D

Seriously speaking though, you wouldn't have the right to tow some stranger's car... imagine you being towed when you were visiting your friend?

You do not own the street parking in front of your house.

You do not have any exclusive rights to it either.

If you want private parking, build a driveway and a garage.

call 604 873 7642 to report parking issues within vancouver. they will ticket/tow if necessary.

i hate it when people up shit to block the spot in front of their house.. i usually end up parking there just to piss them back...

if this is a consistent problem you should talk to city and ask them to put up residential parking only signs on your block

but for now, like what others said, there's 3hr limits, you can call city to ticket them but you can't call a tow company to tow them

you'll be surprised how tight you can be packed in and a tow truck can still get you out, they don't need to be in front or behind your car to tow ya ;)

Throw the shit at their house. Piss me off when ppl think the space in front of their house belongs to them.

By-law No. 2849, Section 17.6(f) prohibits non-resident parking in front of any property for more than 3 hours between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

By complaint basis only.
