sarcasm doesn't translate i suppose. I love the V12s :D I do like the nexens for what they do too |
When you say noisy, which tires would you compare to? I currently have OEM goodyear RS-A and they were never great and i found them noisey too when compared to riding in Michelins. But Mich's are premium tires with a big price. I"m hoping these noisy Nexens will still be quieter than my RS-A. This will only be my 2nd set of all seasons for my matrix, so i guess i'll be able to compare. These CP661 are sold under different names in other parts of the world. I found they are under Hercules, Roadstone, as well as Arrowspeed in Europe. They have the exact same tread. The Arrowspeed were tested here and they got good marks for being quiet: http://www.tyrepress.com/News/1/22/20196.html Will report back after I get them installed! Quote:

lots of customers cars have come in with those tires. pretty hit or miss from what i've seen. lots of runout and tire pull (after the alignment the car still didnt drive right until we put those cheap falken 912's on so it was definately the tires for some reason). the excessive run out seems to be the most common. but some cars have come in with nexen tires and have no problems. also the shop i work at doesn't sell these tires so it might just be where these customers purchase the tires from. if you stand them up when they're stored then the tires (any tire) gets a flat spot! |
I'd never touch those random name tires when they are the only parts touching the road from the car. |
i ended up returning these Nexens because I couldn't find any reviews about them. I saw Costco had a $70 rebate on Bridgestones so I ended up getting the Potenza G019, $550 all in, out the door. So it was $100 more than what I would have spent on the Nexens. The G019 had mixed reviews but at least I know what I may expect from them. Next month Costco will have Michelin Rebates for $70 too but I calculated the most economical one (Primacy MXV) would cost me $680 out the door, so it was too much off my budget. |
^ thats a pretty good buy I have N3000 on my DD, pretty good considering price, mine are 205/35/17 so road definitely audible LOL They held up past 120km/h (on #1 highway) and great in city. Not too great in rain and just pretty bad in my case when it snowed. ( going up cambie from marine got stuck.) |
dang this reminds me to get some new tires... but where is the cheapest place to buy them? ebay? revscene sponsors? or 1010tires.com? im sure ebays shipping would rape us... |

n3000 are rated for 186mph (300km). my old set felt pretty stable at 190km. |
LOL i was expecting something 2 go wrong HAHA kept that speed for about 30mins? tires got kinda soft after the drive. still a killer deal for the tires, still haven't had a problem |
Nexen used make Michelin OEM tires in Korea back in 1980s |
