is it possible? i noticed that once i put my all seasons back on/stockies
i'm getting a very very slight vibration on steering wheel at around
80 - 100km/hr. I used a impact gun to put the lugs back on so
i'm not sure if they are on too tight.

i've checked and re-checked tire pressure and that is fine.

would a quick 'jack up' car, loosen lugs and re-tighten with a lug wrench
possibly fix this? i dont have a torque wrench.

did you notice any vibration from the wheels you had before your stockies? there's a combination of things that i can think of that might cause this vibration. did you torque your lugs in a star/hourglass pattern to make sure that there's even distribution of torque on all 4 or 5 lugs?

if you over torqued everything to the exact same torque and the wheel sat perfectly against your hub, then there shouldn't be any vibration at all. you'll probably damage your studs from over-torquing but if it's perfectly aligned there shouldn't be any vibration. if you have no way of measuring the torque you put onto the lugs, is it possible that the torque distribution is not the same on each lug? this could cause the wheel not to sit properly against the hub. also to get a better fit, i suggest you take some wire scrubbers to get rid of any rust on the hug and where the wheel mates to it. since your stockies i'm assuming have sat for some time, the contact between the wheel and hub might not be ideal.

also get your wheels balanced. get your tires check again anyways for any flat spots if they have been sitting for a while. Finally get a torque wrench they're like 10 bucks cheap and you can measure 80ftlb of torque without any troubles.

I did install the lugs in a star pattern. Before this I had
My winter rims and no vibes at all. the stockies/tires were stored in large bags and not stacked.

I'm going to Jack it up again, loosen and then tighten with an ordinary
Lug wrench. Will report later.

sounds more like its tire related. Try rotating the tires front to back and see if the problem goes away

thats possible too.. as i noticed the front tire was the rear tire before the winter tire swap out...i can try that.. or does it eventually normalize?

Take a quick peek and see if you lost any of the weights on the front wheels. All it takes is to be out 1/2 an ouch and you will get a slight vibration at that speed.

Is there any vibrations on the brakes when you apply them when going 100 km/h on the highway? If no, then it isn't a warped rotor from over tightening the lugs.

Could be as simple as balance issue. If its uneven tread wear, they generally don't "normalize" back to normal. What brand, model is the tire?

checked..no weights missing.

tires are michelin pilot a/s mxm4 17" 235/45

approx 42000km on them. vehicle is 07 TL stock height..never lowered.

The (previously) rear wheels could've been out of balance before you took them off for winter. Now that they're on the front, you notice it.

Update. Went to my garage and switched the front passenger
Tire with the rear passenger tire. Skipped the driver side. Took
Car out on highway and it was pretty much the same. hmmmm..

might take it to a shop and get the rotation done properly. tire pressure sitting at approx 32.5psi all around

I will do a rebalance today. One shop said they can do a free frontend inspection to see
If it is something else. ( should I take them up on this or will they make up shit so I get unnecessary

I would just do a balancing and go from there. shouldn't cost you more than $50 honestly.

Also, you can pick up a torque wrench for dirt cheap at Princess Auto. Its that stupid Power Fist brand but you really can't go wrong with $30. I just bought one last week for that price, it was on sale. Regular price is $45 i think.

cdn tire had some on sale, i think it still on right now, 43$ for the 1/2" drive...

i think its maxim version or whatever one is the "higher-end" one
