Locking lug nuts are only there for your own peace of mind, that's all. Any thief can defeat them with 2 simple tools anyone can buy from any hardware store, probably even walmart. It's like leaving a locked gym locker OUTSIDE a building and expecting it to not get robbed since it has a padlock on it....
If the pics look suspicious because the job is 'too clean' - the theft victim probably repositioned their vehicles using their own paving stones - no point leaving it half assed supported, because no thief is going to give two shits if it's stable or not when they drop it, they just want their jack back - so they just went through the process of stabilizing each vehicle (and adding the rag to protect the rotors) while they figure out what to do next |
