Opinion on acura tsx euro R

i havent seem many in the market right now but im really interested purchasing this vehicle. great looking car but whats your personal opinion on it and also any pointers when looking for a good one?

looking for a 6 speed if that makes a difference!

thanks!

Leopold Stotch 02-19-2011 12:21 AM

i dont think they sold the EURO R here.

but i dont hear many cons to the TSX, other than it's underpowered for the fuel consumption.

d1 02-19-2011 12:29 AM

No such thing as an acura tsx euro R. Don't let all the tyte jdm badges confuse you - in N/A there is only the Acura TSX.

NLY 02-19-2011 12:30 AM

i've only seen used ones on craigslist and even thats rare.

lucky8auto has one for sale but its an automatic

ive always been a fan of the tsx and the euro R's look pretty sweet

ahh. that would explain it..

the ones ive seen look like they have the a-spec body kit and wheels with the emblem..

There is a car called euro r but we dont have it in our market. Euro r is an accord which is a Honda and obviously Honda doesn't have this model in Canada. The "euro r's" you see here are just tsx's with euro r bodykit/emblems. The wannabe euro r's here have completely different specs lol

Leopold Stotch 02-19-2011 12:36 AM

^ yea doesn't the euro r have a k20 not a k24?

Yeah euro r is pretty underpowered too IMO.. K20, double over head camshafts, I-vtec that generates 217hp or some shit :(
Iirc it has recaro front seats though

Edit: rethinking it, it's kinda silly. Tsx's have k24's and euro r's have k20's so wouldn't the tsx have more tq? but of course the euro r is probably tuned..

Edit 2:
Euro-R
Horsepower(kW) 220hp/8000rpm
Torque (Nm [kgm]/rpm) 206/6000
Weight (kg) 1390

TSX Specs
Power bhp (kW) 200hp/6800rpm
Torque lb-ft (Nm) at RPM: 225/ 4500
Weight (kg): 1466

Since we're on the topic about Euro R here's my TSX to Euro R wannabe look ;)

Might be parting out or selling it all together very soon... :(

I really like the look of a TSX especially with the Euro R body bits.

But... I have never been so dissapointed with a Honda/Acura product in my life. The car is brutally gutless, the interior is actually somewhat cheap in fit/finish, and it drives a bit like a domestic.. does not feel sporty to me at all... plus it's quite noisey inside.

I'm sure this could be corrected with 10k+ in mods but then you might as well just buy a 3 series BMW.

Awesome car Osaka! Props! :D

The 6spds are, the 5at....not so much. Also how you drive the car really matters.

compared to our G's yea, but for a 4 cylinder it uses more power than it should for the amount of grunt it has.

also depends on how you drive it too, but compared to the Accord EX they make similar power on similar engines, and you still need to use 91octane.

just some food for thought.

icemiko 02-22-2011 12:25 PM

There's no Euro R here like everyone said, you can always do the Euro R cosmetic conversion though.

I would get a 05 or 06 because that's the only years you can get Hondata for (you can for 04 but it's the 1st year the TSX came out so I wouldn't recommend a 04), also the 06+ have bluetooth, memory seats and dash/bumpers are a bit different then the 04-05's.

IMO, the fuel economy sucks, I get about 450km on a tank (around $70 to fill), the car is underpowered and insurance is expensive but other then that, everything else is pretty good and you get the Honda reliability.

t-o-o-MUCH 02-22-2011 01:10 PM

I get the exact same milage^ 70 for fulltank of 94,insurance is a bitch, especially for a student, but I love my tsx =D

would sell my soul to have a tsx look like that

keifun 02-23-2011 05:34 PM

I know a couple guys that own one. They both modded it up pretty tastefully.

I thought of getting one too, but I just can't stand how underpowered the car is, and its a 2.4L engine too.
