car re-painting

I'm looking at getting my car repainted. Just wanted to see if anyone knows of average prices out here in Vancouver for a good job done and where I should take it. I want to do this because of ugly swirl marks and off shades of black on certain panels from previous accident repairs.. It's a 2000 Accord coupe.

thanks

What color are you painting it? Just a black respray?
Are the jams/under hood getting redone?
Is there any major bodywork that needs to be done? Just parking lot dents?
Are all mldgs, lights, trim, bumpers and glass going to be taken out?
Are you looking for a show car finish? Are you wanting it to be wetsanded and polished afterwards?

These are some of the basic information we need to give you a good quote.

just want to get it repainted black. no under the hood or door jams need to be painted. Pretty much just looking to get the outside of it done.
No major body work is required...there are a few parking lot dents. I do want it to shine afterwards yes...

For a decent job you are probably looking around $1500 to $2200. There are many shops out there right now that are quite slow so you will be able to find a better deal. You can save money by removing and installing lights and handles yourself. Make sure you have a written understanding of exactly what you are paying for to avoid conflict. Shop that I used to work at started at $1900 for a quick splash and charged up from there accordingly.

Hope that helps.

you might not need to repaint the whole vehicle. Maybe take it to a professional detailer and get a really good cut polish, and sealant on it

You can always higher a "private" painter.

He would raint a paint booth, costs about $100 for him.

he just charges for the materials and labour, and that's it.

if you know someone good it will cost as much as a maaco paint job, but as good as any average job 2-3k paint job.
