| YVR - BEST Airport to.... take a nap??? http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/daily...01739-226.html Quote:
If you're going to get stuck at an airport because of a flight delay or layover, you had better hope it's in Vancouver, at least that's what many travellers believe.
Vancouver International Airport was rated by visitors to a travel website dedicated to sleeping in airports as the best place to catch a nap while waiting for a flight in North America.
The website collected travellers' opinions and votes about where the best airports for sleeping are located.
The responses were collected between March and September last year.
"I work at YVR and can say from experience that there are very few airports that are this nice to crash in," one reviewer wrote on the website.
"I've slept in many airports, and Vancouver has to be at the top. Take the advice of others and head for the very end of the U.S. departures area, it's dead silent at night and they often dim the lights down there."
It was also noted the airport has an adjoining hotel where for a fee you can take a shower and enjoy other amenities.
Two other Canadian airports made the list: Montreal's Trudeau International placed sixth, while Toronto's Pearson Airport was in eighth place.
Here are the Top 9 airports for napping:
1. Vancouver Int.
2. San Francisco Int.
3. Seattle Int.
4. Detroit Metropolitan Airport
5. Portland Int.
6. Montreal's Trudeau Int.
7. Denver Int.
8. Toronto's Pearson Int.
9. Charlotte-Douglas Int. (North Carolina)
| Not really news. But, nice to see Vancouver tops the list in various categories.
(best in N.America, not the world - Singapore is #1 in the world)

Basically any airport is good for sleeping. All it really needs is a seat.
I've been to Denver's airport and I wouldn't exactly call that the most comfortable airport to sleep in, since it's so incredibly busy.
Another retardedly useless article.
I mean, you would have to agree an airport like the one in Anchorage Alaska must be pretty good to sleep in, since there's barely anyone around!

| Thats the key. So many airports are so damn packed, its hard to even find a seat let alone a few seats open to stretch out like a boss.
Tried sleeping overnight in HKG, most terrible experience ever.

I once slept on the floor at the foot of a check-in counter at Barcelona's airport overnight. Very uncomfortable experience to say the least

why would anyone lie flat on airport seats...?
your face will probably be in contact with someone who just farted on the seat. same goes for empty seats in an airplane, bus, etc.
