BCLC Slots?

Ok I'm kinda like WTF right now, I rent the lower half of my dads house and 30mins ago he calls me upstairs. Say's hey look at this I started with $300:eek5:

He was up to 12K at one point but I made him cash out at 10K before he lost it all :woot2:

Is this fricken normal or something cause I'm blown away right now that he actually won that kinda cash on the BCLC site.

flagella 02-22-2011 04:38 PM

cool, just make sure he doesn't get addicted and might as well call it a quit.

murd0c 02-22-2011 04:40 PM

Yep that's what I told him and of course he was like I'm still winning. I told him dont care cash out now. After he told me he lost $1000 last week which he was really pissed about. But man this is so dangerous and can get people hooked so easy. I'm so happy he actually said something to me cause for sure he would of lost it all.

sexyaccord 02-22-2011 05:01 PM

pimp my slot!
man they think of everything

TheKingdom2000 02-22-2011 05:06 PM

Wow.
That's pretty awesome.

Though, he was up $12K and after $2k of losing he still wanted to play...
That sounds like a serious problem to me. Also, the fact that he lost $1000 the other time.. and god know's how much he lost before.

And yes, this online gambling is not very healthy for people.
It opens up doors to people who normally wouldn't gamble and to gamblers who have problems. Convenience is not good in this situation.

IMO, bclc online gambling should be shut down.
I know one family where the parents got addicted to gambling and it ruined them. It's really sad to see.

of course that isn't the norm, slots usually have a fairly high house edge. I agree with what everyone else is saying, he started at 300$ and look at his single spin bet now of 90$, you definitely need to talk some sense into him because there is nothing more dangerous than a lucky streak that he will more than likely never achieve again but will want to keep shooting for.

InvisibleSoul 02-23-2011 08:34 AM

Well, yeah... considering he's putting $90 on a spin, that means he got one or two good hits... maybe got the bonus game.

But if he continues going at $90 a pop, I guarantee he'll be broke in no time.

Volvoman 02-23-2011 10:04 AM

I lost $100 on the blackjack table on bclc. i was up, lost a bit, wanted to win it back but then lost it all.

$100 is like 15 bowls of pho. !@#$

Fafine 02-23-2011 10:08 AM

^ and in vietnam it'll get you 400 bowls of pho.

xyz123 02-23-2011 10:14 AM

Congrat on the winnings. Make sure that money doesn't go back into gambling. Just walk away and enjoy it. (Y)

AutozamAZ-3 02-23-2011 01:35 PM

tempted to play right now..

murd0c 02-23-2011 01:37 PM

For sure I spoke to him about it and he said that he's going to be more careful next time. Good thing he has some cash but still makes me worried that you can easly lose huge money if your not smart about it.

GrapeDrink 02-23-2011 01:43 PM

exactly when you are playing at 90 bucks a pop and its like what 5 seconds a spin online? one bad run and you can see where this is going, you can also look into a self exclusion option somewhere on the website I remember one of my friends did that.

98% of the people who frequent the casino are down overall

and successful people typically dont gamble

i have always had a decent income, stable investments etc, but when i lose like $100/$200 at the casino i feel like a fucking idiot

Vale46Rossi 02-23-2011 01:54 PM

Holy shit, your dad goes $90 a pop?

thats a little high for a friggen slot machine...

rageguy 02-23-2011 02:53 PM

I played the demo. $100 per spin, 20 line slot. I got over 20k in one spin. I don't buy it though. The odds of winning like this is slim.

I'd agree with that. I play poker probably 3-5 days a week and although I don't get rich from it I do win over time. You have to track your results good and bad to make sure you're winning and not just think you are. Go over hands after and replay them, figure out your mistakes and improve on them. Most of all you have to get it in good, over time if you keep doing that you will be a winner but anyone who says they win all the time is a liar.

Also never gamble with more then you can afford to lose. In poker a serperate bankroll is important. I would never play slots or table games at the casino I want to have the edge not them.

Hondaracer 02-24-2011 09:47 AM

Yea i should have prefaced that buy saying Poker probably has the highest odds of walking away up if your decent

BUT..eventually odds are that somone is going to hit a winning flush or nuts on the river and even the best player could end up taking a substantial loss just on bad luck

Yes, thats why volume is important. It's not about 1 hand or 1 session it's about playing 1000's and 1000's of hands. Over time the cream rises to the top. Sort of like how the Canucks could lose to the Islanders but at the end of the year the Canucks will have a better record because they're better.
