Good references websites for papers

Do you guys any online reference website for writing papers? I like to spew bs on my papers but they want sources so im planning to put in random book sources that can be found online.

Splmash 02-22-2011 10:25 PM

so you're planning on just including a couple random references in your bibliography? ...

Chronix 02-22-2011 10:27 PM

yep

woob 02-22-2011 10:45 PM

wikipedia article on relevant topic --> scroll down to references at the bottom.

neggo 02-22-2011 11:07 PM

I just finished writing a paper a couple of hours ago, actually. I used relevant sources without any bullshit.

My tip to you? Do it right. Even the laziest of the lazy can find, at the very least, one source.

Don't be a dumb ass.

Chronix 02-22-2011 11:15 PM

^oh yea, where did you find your sources?

Gilgamesh 02-22-2011 11:16 PM

Well, most basic database for articles is this:

http://www.vpl.ca/extDB/login.remote...micSearchElite

You need a library card to gain access.

RacingMetro92 02-22-2011 11:23 PM

I'm pretty sure you can find one source...

Otherwise theres places like JSTOR, or if youre at a college/university, you should have access to a database.

GrapeDrink 02-22-2011 11:54 PM

what grade are you in ? please don't say college or uni, getting caught with bs sources is not as rare as you think, there were always a few in every one of my classes in college that had to stay behind after a term paper and etc to have a "talk"

snowball 02-23-2011 12:02 AM

I hope you're in highschool,

Every post-secondary institute's library gives you access to a huge number of real online journals and journal directories.

Also, do your papers properly, even if you skim the articles to find your arguments it's better than making shit up and plugging in references.

akalic 02-23-2011 12:28 AM

useless high school kids these days

going to skip the provincials too after i busted my ass on them back in the day

online courses ftw

TheKingdom2000 02-23-2011 04:44 AM

There is no way OP is in college or uni.

What's the topic on?
Pubmed is good. A lot of their papers don't need a a subscription service.

Or use google scholar and look at where the journal/article iss published from. Obviously, don't use a bs source.
Though, if this is highschool they don't really care which source you use. I remember I was allowed to use random internet sources I could find on google. Just use google scholar.

Use the encyclopedia, that's always a gimmie.

OP... don't waste your $$ on post secondary education.

GrapeDrink 02-23-2011 08:54 AM

lol yah I love how I asked him what grade he is in and he tells me he is in an online course. I took online courses in high school and college .. I don't see where your going with that point ..

tiger_handheld 02-23-2011 09:14 AM

vancouver public library.
$5 for library card.

gives you access to online databases such as ebsco, business source premier and bunch of other stuff.

geeknerd 02-23-2011 09:47 AM

who gives a shit what grade he is in.
i hope he is in post-sec and gets caught with fake sources and gets expelled. he will then learn.

Jgresch 02-23-2011 10:53 AM

Where do you get your information from for your topics? Unless you know everything about anything...

Chronix 02-23-2011 11:43 AM

^obviously from the textbook and stuff he already taught. just need more sources to back up my analysis/research paper

Jgresch 02-23-2011 12:01 PM

Then use the textbook as a source. I believe there is also a way to cite lectures.
