JDM engines

I'm looking at building another Anglia, this one powered by either a Mazda 13B-TT or a Nissan VG30DETT and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with Nagasaki JDM Motors in Delta. Like how complete are the sway units, conditions of the motors, mileage.

My current Anglia is a 1954 with a 12A, 5spd out of a 83 RX7

b18?

This has got to be one of the top ten most asked questions around here.

last I heard Nagasaki location in delta was gone, they moved back to their eastern location.

dont deal with nagasaki. Unless of course you like junk motors, "lost" transaction records and filthy liars. Long story short, they delivered me the wrong motor and it took me 3 months to get the right one from them.

and i wouldn't buy a junkyard rotary engine, unless you plan to rebuild it first.

By today standards the engines you mentioned are antiquated. I highly recommend checking out GM's EcoTEC or V6 LLT, LY7. You save so much trouble and eventually money simply there is the GM catalog for things like harnesses, ECU etc. Not to mention vast aftermarket for things like supercharger etc. Unfortunately GM doesn't offer V6 or I4 turnkey crate engines which is too bad because they have 3year 160k km warranty.

vg30dett is known to be complex and heavy!

When it comes to swaps With nissan engines.

SR20>vg30dett.
the sr is a great little power house plus its small and simple.the 350 -400 whp mark is not a difficult task.

Why an Anglia?
As a Toyota Fan boy I have to ask why not 2JZ?

SpuGen 02-27-2011 10:20 AM

1J's are cheaper, sound better, and I don't think he's planning to make big power... so the 1J would be more than enough.

I agree with the 1j and sr20. But out of your two engine I'd go for the rotary for weight and coolness.

Why not?

how could I forget about the 1j silly me.
Also thats a small front end so in-line 6 may be out of question but i'm sure with enough time and imagination anything is possible.
Even though I see the 1jz as the superior engine I think in that tiny engine bay an sr20 would be a better fit.

Rotary's are great but seem to be Temper mental. engines like sr's and 1jz's put up with alot of shit before they die. I'm not talking abuse, rotaries love abuse.
