Lost my sense of smell and taste buds

The past week, I've been sick from a cold + fever. Now, I am into Day 6 of this, starting to slowly recover.

Today, I lost my sense of smell and taste buds. I couldn't taste the food I was eating and I couldn't really smell things. For example, I opened up my bottle of cologne and took a big sniff at it, I couldn't smell anything. Usually that stuff is super strong.

Anyone gone through any experience like this? I've been sick like this before, but never encountered lost of smell/taste. :fuuuuu:

You haven't fully recovered yet so why don't you wait until that happens before checking again?

Have you tried a neetle pot to clear out your sinuses? It's disgusting, I know, to pour hot water in your nose is really weird and ucky but you'll feel better for it. This is what my doctor recommended last time I got that sick.

That said, if you try this and it fails, and your symptoms persist for more than 1 week, or you notice the discharge from your nose is really bright green or yellow, you should go to the doctor you need antibiotics.

Also you should take tylenol (1 every four hours) for your fever if you're still above normal.

that happened to me the last time I was sick. First time it happened to me too, I couldn't smell anything or taste anything I ate. Everything was like eating cardboard :(

I gotten better after 2 weeks, that was a long nasty cold. Takes time to fully heal.
