I've been searching for a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited on CL off and on. There are a lot of terrible ads on CL, especially from dealerships.

Basically do you prefer a few lines of text/info with the classic 4 pictures. Or do you prefer lot's of HTML use (colors, large pictures etc).

Plain text or HTML doesn't matter. Good content does.

What turns you off from an ad?
ex.
No price listed
No kms listed
Too many photos
too few photos
no contact besides e-mail.

or

does nothing turn you off an ad and you only care about what's for sale.

No price, no look. If you're selling something, fucking list the price! Arg, this is my biggest pet peeve.

No photos, no look. Come on, we all have digital cameras, fucking use it.

Too few details, quick close. I shouldn't have to search if its auto/manual or power windows or ...

Details listed in one big fucking paragraph. If you're selling a $10K+ item, learn proper grammar and spelling.

Other example
Craigslist titles

2010 Honda Civic SI
vs
2010 HONDA CIVIC SI!!!! LOWEST FINANCE RATES! TRADE YOUR CAR IN

etc etc

The title doesn't matter much, as long as it has the details I want.

Yet... the second type of title tells me the dealer is scum. Every dealer should offer the lowest rates, why do you need to advertise that?

I cannot stress enough how true this is.

If you're a dealer and listing a NEW car on CL, then scan CL first to see what the price is. If you're putting a higher price, you might as well not waste your time cause I won't even open it.

CL is for DEALS, not to advertise for your dealership. You want my business, post the lowest price, or fuck off. :D

^He is right because most of us are NOT going to pay 30-50% more than what the car is worth. Plus you have to get these infos correctly.
-year ( It is important to state the month of the manufacture because some people are looking for transitional model)
-The RIGHT model
-Basic pictures
-The correct mileage (either in km or miles)
-Basic history of the vehicle (Accident free or it needs some sort of repair)
-Price (in obo or firm)
-Contact information

Pictures, description, price, and youtube walkarounds are always awesome.

^ those are the types of ads that i do not want to see...

like someone mentioned...i don't like looking at dealer post in places like craigslist...this is what turns me off ebay as well...no more person to person but corporation to person...

To add to that, don't post the monthly payment price to make it appear low and show up on every single price range search!

Only post the total price.
