Software engineer and designer positions available

These are 2 internal postings which we are allowed to recommend external people for. I have removed all references to the company to protect myself, so please PM me to apply.

These are obviously senior positions with specific job requirements. Please don't waste my time if you don't fit the skills required, I will not forward on your resume.

Moderators, there is a referral bonus. This is a competitively paid senior position, thus the referral bonus for finding a good candidate. This is a great opportunity for someone on RS, yet understand if the referral bonus breaks the rules.

Wow, not one single response. I knew the membership was young on RS, yet I figured there be some older tech peeps here.

There are officially 3 jobs now. 2 designers (one Pharmacy, one more generic healthcare IT) and 1 developer.

you won't get any response. i mean the job description is great. I would think someone with those skills sets are introverts and are typically paid really well and treated fairly at the company they are working for.

I told my manager something similar. We're still not out of the recession, and anyone that has survived layoffs and is senior would not want to risk changing jobs unless the job is a LOT better or pays a LOT better.

No offense to my own industry, yet healthcare is slow moving and not exactly cutting edge fun stuff. It does pay well, among the top, yet the salary isn't going to be significantly more than what any other senior employee would make.

Thus it has been difficult to hire. It is a fantastic workplace, with awesome benefits and great people. Kinda like a government job, minus the lazy people with higher salaries.

We're hiring Senior Software Developers/Engineers again.

Healthcare is a great place to be if you're looking for a stable, well paid career with awesome benefits. The benefits were already above industry standard, yet since our recent merger they have gotten even better! I appreciate the flexibility to work at home at times and how sick/vacation days are managed.

The work is really interesting lately as we're developing a few new products, and integrating products between the 2 merged companies.

I think the hospital experience/pharmacy experience is whats turning down most programmers/software engineers... IT definetly has a very big job market and most looking for a career in the field are hungry for a job.... My mom does recruiting for jobs similar to the descriptions you have mentioned, and so far she has been turning down alot of people... Not too long ago, I know of a guy who was in desperate search for a job, and landed with a clinical job ie. programming, database, etc (I won't be exposing the name of the company) with many years of systems analyzing experience but with zero clinical experience.... I really think that the clinical experience really shouldn't be a requirement so much as it should be just an asset.. If they really know what they're doing, it wouldn't really be that hard to adapt to the health/pharmacy environment

I hope not, I had zero clinical experience when I started. Developers need little/no clinical experience, yet Designers definitely need it.

It took me awhile to adjust to the clinical terms. Since I came from a military contractor I did understand some of the ass-backwards things clinical software does, cause lives are on the line things are not always done in the most efficient, cost effective manner like in other tech industries.

We're still hiring. 7 people as designers, developers, managers, and implementation specialists (ie client installation and support).
