website to find value of car? Hey guys, I was going to sell a 2002 civic coupe. Where can i look up the value of the car? I am most likely going to sell it to a dealership as I dont have time to sell it privately. Any website where I can look up the current value of the car so I don't get ripped off when I sell it? thanks |
craigslist.....for market value canadianblackbook.com for dealer value. Are you trying to just sell it? Or do you plan on buying a new car+trading it in? If you are just sellign it to the dealership without buying one of their cars, you will get significantly less money than if you were to buy one of their cars. Well without the smoke and mirrors you would feel like you were getting more by purchasing/trading in, but in reality you won't get much. Check out similar ones on craigslist right now, generally you will be offered maybe $2500-$3500 less than the askign prices of those ones. It woudl probably be better for you to just fire sale it if you aren't buying a new car. If you want, you can pm me with more info, milage, accidents, condition options etc and I'll give you a ball park figure you will be offered at most places. |
go to the toyota website and find the section on appraise my ride; just note that it is the lowest value you can get from a trade-in and compare with craigslist from there or you can find someone that has access to carfax to check it for you or pay for it |
Website? Just contact Anthony Espinosa :troll: |

The online appraisal things usually don't take into account work the vehicle needs, accidents, body damage etc. It basically asks you for your car specs and says this is the highest amoutn of $$$ we can give you if the car is perfect. Also When you're buying a new car when trading in, the dealer has more of a cushion, and on paper he can say you'll get $5000 for your trade, when in reality they're only paying $4000/taking $1000 away from their profit instead. There are a ton of smoke and mirrors when trading in a car. But just goign to the dealer and asking to sell it is much different, becasue you can't hide the numbers this way. edit: and most websites just link to canadianblackbook.com, which actually doesn't give appraisal numbers for 2002 civic LXs. Not sure why, but some cars are missing from the database. |
