Unknown Call
 

This unknown number keeps calling me every couple of days..
Its the same recording from this same guy asking me to call this number 1800 555 5543 and use some reference number..

He does not state any company he works for or what he wants.. just says its important to get back to him...

Anyone know whats up? I assumed it is a scam so I have been ignoring it but this shits been calling me for about a month and a half now...
Its pissing me off a little and fido says they cant block the number unless I file a police report and have them contact fido... >.>

Anyways im starting to get kinda curious of whats the phone about haha...

Is that the actual phone number? Because there are no routable 555 phone numbers.

That is an impossible number to call if that is in fact the number. If it's not it is likely a bill collector.

One way to get pwned are by rates. Ie the longer they string you along during the call through getting put on hold etc. Could be $xxxx/minute long distance.

Call them say you are getting harassed by a certain number.

I got the same thing pretty much and the rep gave me Call Manager for free.
One more thing is that Symbian + Android phones (I don't know about others) have built in call barring features that let you selectively "auto reject" certain calls.

buy and iphone and use iblacklist :p most likely a lottery scam. its a spoofed phone number.

"you have inheritwed $XXXX from your Nigerian King uncle who has just died. Send $XX to cover legal costs and we'll send you $10 million, honest."

Thanks for the input, I have a iphone.. so ill probably downlaod the iblacklist thing or seomthing simliar to that.. never knew they had aps like that haha..

You're probably being prank called by a friend who's using that iPhone app that lets you change your number to anything.

these kinda jokes are on par with saying "look over there!" and pointing, when there's really nothing there.

I am fairly sure that something like iBlacklist are not going to allow you to screen a call with no caller ID record unless you choose to block ALL unknown numbers...

unless they keep calling from different #'s, it will block them.
